  • QOTD Wednesday: Do you check Facebook on vacation?

Simple enough right? A vacation is supposed to be relaxing, entertaining and a place to enjoy new things right?

Now, with phones that have Facebook and laptops that are light as a feather, it is easier to stay connected back at home.

Wasn't the purpose to go on vacation to avoid social networking and slaving yourself away to status updates?

Or do you just HAVE to share pictures of that killer sunset you just took with your phone?

Do you check Facebook on vacation? Do you try to avoid it?
  • New Banyan tree in Mexico

From Guest Blogger Anja @ Everthenomad.com

A week ago, I returned (sans swine flu) from a five-day stay at the newly opened Banyan Tree Mayakoba in Mexico, the first North American property of this Singapore-based hotel chain. During my career as a travel writer, I have had the privilege of staying at a variety of stunning five-star hotels and resorts around the world, places normally beyond my reach. And so it happens that I'm not all that easily impressed. But when it comes down to Banyan Tree, I was absolutely swept off my feet. It felt like walking into a fairy tale. More Here...
  • My 2 Favorite Travel Channel Shows

It's kind of surprising that we only have one channel devoted to travel when so many people are going places. Fortunately, there are some great shows you can catch that can inspire you to get off your butt and to see so many beautiful places!

You'll find yourself drooling at your television set wanting to get up and go. (I know I do.) Past Trip Crazers even agree that the travel channel has some great shows.

Even though I enjoy watching anything related to travel, here are my 2 favorite shows that I could watch all day and everyday. More Here...

  • Hard Rock Cafe's around the World

Ever since going to America and Canada last year on the Coach tour, I have visited a number of Hard Rock Cafe shops. Start in New York, Boston, Toronto, Niagara Falls, and also the one in Ottawa, Canada.

Some foreign ones are Sharam El Sheikh, Cancun and Mallorca. We don't go on a holiday where there is a Hard Rock Cafe. We go for a break and to see different places around the world. They just happen to be everywhere.

Have you ever visited any of the Hard Rock Cafe's or do you just look at the shop?

  • The Whirling Dervishes At The Sirkeci Train Station

This post is part 12 of 17 of my trip to Istanbul. The series intends to give more than just a I-saw-this-and-did-that review. It aims to share the voice inside my head as I explore a world I’ve only read in books.

From Guest Blogger Monica @ A Pair of Panties and Boxers

By the time JC and I walked the length of the Theodosian Walls from the Chora Church to the Sirkeci Central Train Station, the sky turned into a menacing gray and the wind picked up furiously. Within a few minutes sky broke into a waterfall. We went into the train station to escape the rain and to buy evening tickets to see the Whirling Dervishes. Unfortunately, the tickets weren’t available for purchase until an hour before the show. For the next two hours, JC and I sat at the benches and played a game we made up while the trains passed by and the sky poured sideways. More Here...
