  • Bon Voyage to 2009!

Happy New Year's Eve Tripcrazed! Today marks the last day of the year for 2009. Grab the streamers, blow your horns and get ready to count down to January 2010; a new day, month, year and decade! Besides the obvious changes in dates, a new year can mean many changes.

Closing the curtains on anything is always an emotional experience. Not only do you reflect on the past, but you think about how to improve on the future. But, opening doors to new challenges can also be worthwhile.

Often the instinct is to start fresh with a new year; to take new challenges and better yourself in many possible ways.

Not only are we celebrating New Year's Eve here as individuals, but today marks the last day Tripcrazed will be updated. This post will be the last post for Tripcrazed.

For the past year, we have been dedicated to bringing you information about travel, culture and global destinations. To not only share with travel aficionados, but perhaps inspire someone to go on their first trip. We are so greatful for your dedication and time with us here on Tripcrazed; your comments, posts and photos that we deeply appreciate! It is more than just being on a travel website, but sharing travel stories as a community.

As an Editor, I have been blessed with the experience to share my love of travel with the Xanga community. Writing about travel is probably what I was born to do and what I'll die doing. Life has been an adventure and working on Tripcrazed has been also! One of those wonderful journeys you'll always look back on as an experience that marked a wonderful chapter in your life. I've learned so much as an Editor and will forever use this knowledge.

I encourage everyone to see this wonderful world we live in. Whether you are old, young, rich or poor, the love of travel is one that changes someone forever! It's a lifetime experience that moves you to find more in your life and to see anything and everything.

Travel is something that opens so many doors and it truly opens your eyes to beautiful sights, cultural wonders and journeys that will go on forever.

We are also thankful for our Guest Blogs who shared their articles and points of views about travel with us.

Thank you to A Pair of Panties and Boxers, Art of Backpacking, Ever the Nomad, and Places 2 Explore: Our incredibly talented guest bloggers that everyone should continue to follow. It has been wonderful working with these individuals who share the love of travel. It's always great to connect with others and understand the importance of networking with others to learn more about places to see or things to do.

Our interns here on Tripcrazed, Katelyn and Neeraja deserve an outstanding Thanks for their posts and dedication to Tripcrazed. Through the many recent travels and the hectic Holiday season, our two interns have really shined and have written wonderful posts about travel.

They are talented writers with great potential and will hopefully get to do lots of traveling in the near future!

I'd also like to thank the Xanga team for allowing me to be the Editor of Tripcrazed. As a travel writer and individual, I am incredibly lucky to work with a great team who has allowed me to grow and soak up the travel and blogging world. I can't express how grateful I am for the opportunity to share my thoughts and experiences with the Xanga community.

Luckily, travel lovers or anyone that wants to be Tripcrazed can still read past posts through the archives. For specific topics, our tag page can help you find information quickly.

For 2010, travel lovers can find a new tab dedicated to the art of travel on I Really Like Food. It will contain travel related posts and information. We'd love your support and appreciate your patience as we make the transition to I Really Like Food. The Tripcrazed team will be there and we look forward to seeing you there!

Once again, we thank the Xanga community for following Tripcrazed! To share one quote that deeply touches my heart and really fits the ambiance of our last post.

"For a long time it seemed to me that life was about to begin -- real life.
But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first,
some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid.
At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life.
This perspective has helped me to see there is no way to happiness.
    Happiness is the way.
So treasure every moment you have and remember that time waits for no one.
Happiness is a journey, not a destination."

Whether it is travel, life, or any kind of experience, I wish everyone a very Happy New Year! I will toast to many (many) travels, good luck and hopefully lots of success! We all hope you will join us soon on I Really Like Food for our new travel tab. Until then, Bon Voyage 2009!

    Your Editor,

    Teresa

You can not only find me on the new travel tab, but also at my personal travel website and personal blog. (My resolution this year is to make sure I keep up with all my blogs!)
