  • Will Tightened Security Ruin your Vacay?

    On Christmas Day we unfortunately experienced another (almost) terrorist attack on the United States and now has airport security on a heightened alert once again.  This has now wreaked havoc in airports and ultimately results in long lines and makes unruly, frustrated travelers. 

    This small incident made one giant catastrophe for airplanes and is steering me away from flying yet again in the future.  Although I am thankful that security is taking necessary steps to protect fliers and our country's safety, but when it comes to time constraints, it can really put a damper on your vacation. 

    No one wants to wait three hours in line so they can do a body scan on you, scan your luggage to make sure you are not carrying any weapons, and especially not for all 75 people in line.  How do you handle airports during rough times?


    Does the current heightened security for airports put a damper on your traveling?

    Nope, I'm not going on vacay. It should make you feel safer rather than ruining your vacay though.

    I would travel even though the security has been heightened. Nothing would stop me from flying home when I want to.

    No way! I think that people will complain either way. If security was like it was back in the 90s and we had constant terrorist threats, people would surely complain about the lack of it and precautions. And flights - despite the crying babies and the cramped seating and the pitiful food portions - are always something I look forward to. It's just the idea of going somewhere that I appreciate, regardless of the three-hour-security-invasions.

    That's what terrorists want! They want us to live in fear. I refuse! I will still go on vacation this summer as long as everything goes according to plan. I am honestly more scared of a plan crashing b/c of technical difficulties than I am of terrorists. A passenger took it upon himself to tackle this almost terrorist on that plane Christmas Day. If I were a terrorist I'd be scared of being on a plane b/c the passengers have no fear and will bring the enemy down themselves if they have to.

    You know, people are gonna keep complaining and worrying about things, soon enough there will be laws for everything so it looks like I wont be allowed to walk backwards in the next 10 years because it might be a law that were not allowed to bump into people anymore. I think this heightened security is stupid. Fear the terrorist, fear the terrorists!


    Hmm..we might as well shut down education because who knows, they may be disguised as a teacher! lets all just live off of our precious ipods and wither in music that has no meaning.


    I will still fly out, but pretty soon with all this terrorist talk youll prolly have to have a visa to fly from state to state. Maybe I just wont bring any luggage, and start blow drying my hair in public bathroom hand dryers and buy all the clothes I need at destination. Or maybe ill fedex my luggage to my hotel? OR MAYBE, ill join an omish society and ride around in buggies all day while everyones personal belongings get triple checked because they want to fly to hawaii for a vacation. Wait! Your things just need to be check one more time because maybe our first security guard was a moron. Maybe you made a lighter into a bomb in the bathroom between check points! OOO thats it, its 3 hours to get from the vehicle to the boarding room. I have time between running late for my plane to makes bombs and blah blah blah.

    yes i really affected my vacay when i moved to India. i was trapped for security scanning for nearly 8 hours and i lost my vacay mood totally. really it was dull trip in my carrier.
