  • The North Pole in New York?

If you grew up thinking Santa lived so far away you couldn't imagine visiting him, stop right there. Santa is a lot closer than you think. At least, if you live in the Northeast.

Did you know that there was a North Pole, NY? We're talking about deep in the heart of New York. Pretty far up North actually. It's about 5 hours from NYC and you're close to the border of Canada. But, you will find St. Nick.

Located in the Adirondack Mountains, the North Pole is a tiny remote area known for its most popular inhabitant. Santa! Santa's workshop which is open almost all year round features Santa, the reindeers and a Christmas theme replicated area of the real North Pole.

There are rides, shows and you even get a chance to talk to the big man himself. This is great for families with young children who look forward to the fun Christmas tradition. Had I know about this when I was a kid, I probably would have begged my parents to death to see this, since it isn't too far away.

General admission for adults is $20 and $18 for children. Click here for more information.

How long did you believe in Santa? What were your favorite Christmas memories?
