pretty clothes :)
(I'm imagining the pics numbered as though they were hop scotch squares, the top one is #1, then the second row, from left to right is #2 and #3 respectively, etc...) I'm loving #3 and #5
#3 because I could imagine Erykah Badu wearing it, the whole garb, from head to toe, and not one person would think the outfit was inspired by traditional Muslim/Middle Eastern garb
#5 because it architectural construction seems a lot like things people in my country, America, wear (think skinny jeans with the hipster knee length A-line dress as a top) while simultaneously being very traditionally "Muslim" looking.
both because they are the least involved with the Pretty Pretty Princess color motif of the collection lol.
Nothing against those colors, all the outfits are certainly fab, just not my personal preference =)
Kind of cute!
im loving the light teal color
I'm really sick of these fucking ugly clothes everywhere on Tripcrazed and Lovelyish.
interesting~
@coffeeishappinessinacup@xanga - if you think that this fashion is somehow more oppressive then our western fashion industry then you got issues girl. we mostly have a uniform exactly as strict as they do. to black friday shop (the one day/year I actually step foot in an American mall) i wore gray ankle boots with red and blue argyle knee highs and gray tights with a short shirt dress and a bright yellow sweater vest and a grey beanie and people gawked at me as though I was the devil incarnate.
in most of america, if its not uggs with that miniskirt or if ur slogan t-shirt isn't ironic enough (or if it's *too* ironic), people will put u in the emotional prison (basically by ogling you as though you're part of the circus' freakshow) just as quickly as someone in the middle east might take issue with your non-hijab.
and don't say being ogled is not as bad as what happens to a woman who may fashionably deviate from the norm in the middle east: if we demand more from ourselves, others will follow.
but until I can comfortably go out in America dressed how I want to dress, I won't talk bad about how fashion oppresses women in any other country.
@missneeraja - well I'm sorry my comment offended you.
@cutesycharm@xanga - agreed.
@missneeraja - I'm liking #3, #5, and also #8. It's actually pretty cool that these designers were able to be so creative while still conforming to the norms of their country.
