iPhones are a great essential for the global traveler. Its ability to work all around the world is a great advantage for those who need to keep connected to the world. Whether you are a global traveler or a weekend vacationer, Apple has some great travel applications you can use to make traveling that much easier.
We've even discussed the best
5 Apps for traveling. But, of course there are so many out there, our favorite list can go on and on.
We all know Google Maps is the number one Travel app for navigating through cities, but let's take a look at three other great travel apps:
1. Airline USA or Airline Conqueror: Free/99 cents Technically, it is a game, but still very useful to a traveler, or anyone who loves a good addicting game. The object is to direct flights by matching the color of the flight to its destination. You do this by linking them with a line path. Careful not to have planes cross lines or hit because you'll crash and lose the game.
This game is very addicting and a lot of fun. Great for travel aficionados and to kill time waiting around at airports.
2. Sit or Squat: (Free) I find this application amusing. If you happen to be traveling abroad, it might be a pain when nature calls. Luckily, if you find yourself in a strange place, this app will use the GPS to find the nearest restroom.
A great app, because when you've gotta go, when you gotta go!
3. Lonely Planet Travel Guides: Prices vary Rather than carrying a bulky guidebook that will take up room in your luggage, why not have it in the palm of your hands? Literally, the Lonely Planet application features the same popular books on the iPhone.
Although they may be pricey (As much as the books themselves) it is convenient to go paperless.
What are your favorite travel apps for the iPhone? Do you find these helpful for your traveling needs?
