There is no way around riding a taxi in NYC. Yes they are annoying, but they get you there don't they? Quick and easy. The streets of Manhattan are literally owned by taxi cabs. Maybe that should be the frustrating part.

picketpockets in barcelona are a nightmare, particularly on Las Ramblas - i've had more than one encounter with the charmers down there.

Yeah, my mom told me about how she was wearing skinnys in Cairo and got hassled by a lot of men. Sigh.
Well, nothing's ever happened to me in Paris & Prague (maybe i've been lucky), but i do agree with Rome being on that list - I didn't get pickpocketed, but my friend almost did..
(but Rome's a crazy place anyway with all the scooters xD )I've yet to meet a person who's gone to Barcelona who hasn't been pickpocketted.
Siem Reap, hahaha. So true. Those people at the Angkor Wat temples are the worst hasslers! But I love Siem Reap anyway.
But I didn't meet ANY pickpocketers in Barcelona/ Madrid. Thank God. I love Spain!

Don't get into a taxi in Russia if you want to live. It may sound like I'm joking and being sarcastic. I'm not. Don't. Btw, I'm Russian and have lived there.
Hassled in Hoi An, Vietnam is true! but they are just trying to make a living (custom tailoring suits, shirts etc). I would also say that Hanoi, pickpocketing is really agressive. They won't just pickpocket you, they will literally STEAL it from you in front of everyone--so don't wear watches necklaces, bracelets or talk on cell phone in public (expensive phones). Some thieves will ride their mopeds right by and have someone on the back snatch it right from you.
May i ask, how is NYC WORST TAXI RIDE? If you aren't taking the Metro than you're taking the taxi which is fast, dependable, and fair price. I would argue NYC is one of the best (from my experience in Manhattan only).
My parents got pickpocketed so badly in Barcelona! My dad had 4 men completely SURROUND him...but he shouted and they backed off.
The best thing about pickpocketers is that they don't have any weapons on them and they don't look to actually HURT you...just steal from you. =P
...and why is San Francisco on the list for "Hassled"?? I just went there and nothing happened to me at all! Hmm..

i remember i went there a few years ago and the taxi driver was telling me to get out...
proberly because he was trying to get more passengers then his mates or whatever but really...cmon...why be so rude?
id love to see what he'd be like if it was some old women trying to get out of the car.
