Despite all the beauty our world has to offer, there are some places where danger is a part of everyday life. Volcanoes, desertification, killer storms, and more threats people face while living their lives. Popularmechanics.com made a list of the Most Dangerous Places to Live on Earth:
via Flickr Mt. Merapi, JavaThis is an active volcano that erupts within four miles of 200,000 people, in what they call "Fire Mountain." This threat residents have in Central Africa could bury them in ash-mud if the volcano unleashes trillions of poisonous gas from beneath.
via Flickr The MaldivesThis island nation is only a mere six feet above sea level, where climate change is showing their biggest effects to date. A majority of the 1,100 islands are deemed uninhabitable and are causing locals to find life elsewhere.
Grand CaymonLooks can be deceiving when it comes to beautiful hot spots like the Caymon islands. They are known as "hurricane capital of the world", where in 2004 Hurricane Ivan destroyed nearly 70% of buildings on the island and 40,000 locals with practically nothing to live on.

Minqin County, ChinaThe 2+ million residents are seeing drought and water diversion so bad, that in this province of China will be near total destruction in no time. Farmers are desperate for a new home, but the expanding population is making things even more difficult.
