  • The Top 3 Safest Cities to Travel

Not too long ago, we warned you about the top 3 Countries you will most likely get kidnapped in. Hopefully, this will change, but until then, safe travels if you do visit these places. Now, we are lucky enough to show you the Top 3 safest countries you should visit. (You know, in case some crazy sea monster decides to eat the United States and you had to go somewhere.)

The list is based on the Global Peace Index, which reviews crime statistics, government actions and global relationships. Although these countries are considered safe, it doesn't mean to let your guard down. I wouldn't suggest running around like nothing is going to happen to you!

New Zealand- With the nickname of "Kiwi" for a resident of New Zealand, how can you not imagine this city being safe? I have a silly imagination and can't help but picture myself exiting the plane and being handed Kiwi's upon my arrival. But, in the real world, many claim New Zealand is a friendly and safe country to visit.

With friendly locals, lots of exciting things to do and a beautiful landscape, how can you not want to visit New Zealand?

Denmark: A country home to the birthplace of the Legos. (I didn't even know that.) You can't think about much trouble in a country that came up with Legos. All jokes aside, Denmark is also home to the famous capital of Copenhagen, a vibrant tourist destination.

The country is so safe, they say you can even hitchhike in certain parts of the country. Sounds a bit extreme and scary for a New Yorker like me.

Norway: Face it, have you ever heard any outstanding bad news about Norway? Maybe I need to watch more CNN, but as far as I know, I don't hear about much trouble over yonder. Norway is a Christian country, but welcomes and accepts others. Ironically, 3/4 of Norway is atheist or agnostic. For these reasons, they are quite liberal in certain issues like same-sex marriage.

Imagine a country so safe that police don't routinely carry guns. A wild thought indeed, but thanks to a low crime rate.

The rest of the top 10 safe countries list.

Would you visit these countries? Do you consider any other places safe?
