Image SourceThe most exciting part about school is getting out and leaving for the day. Just kidding, kind of. Whenever it was time for a class trip, it meant education beyond the classroom in a more creative way.
Oh the days of packing a peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and the buddy system. Class trips were always something we'd look forward to. And as we grew, so did the trips. Secondary schools try to advocate large scale trips to other states or even other countries.
My favorite class trip as a kid was Field Day. Every June in Elementary school, we'd bring a huge lunch and lots of outdoor toys, such as volleyballs, baseballs and other athletic equipment. It would take place in Central Park, NY, so the fields of green were endless. Nothing like running around with your friends all day.
As a teenager, my favorite class trip was going to Europe in my Junior year of high school. I sold chocolate to make half of my trip money and the trip itself opened my eyes to the world of travel.

We never did many trips, in first school (age 4-7) and (age 8-11) we went to a victorian classroom as we was a victorian school child for the day was the main field trip we did.
It was depending on the topic our class was studying each term, a lot was local, but a few were further away but in the same country (day trips)
In secondary school local trips the library, field trips because of projects we did.
I got to go to both Berlin and the South of France with my school. Both rocked!
My choir in my senior year of high school went to Disneyland. that was really fun.
as a kid i loved going to the zoo or a local apple orchard. as a teen, i enjoyed a choir trip to Philadelphia.
Went to a museum last year, had a nice adventure.

My favorite long trip, was to Big Bend National Park in Texas. It was a week long adventure in 8th grade. It was so awesome. :P
my favorite class trip in elementary school was the trip to the bronx zoo in the first grade.
my favorite middle school trip was to the statue of liberty (in 6th grade) which was cool.
my favorite high school trip was with the band my freshman year, and we went to baltimore and washington d.c. THAT was my all time favorite trip. i had so much fun and the weather was awesome, i was with all my friends, it was just a great great trip.

my favorite was probably when we went to the baltimore science center and the electricity went out so we got to wander around the harbor all day instead.there were a lot but i just remember the time when our junior high or elementary??? took a trip out to see whales. getting seasick was pretty memorable too. the reason i remember that the most was because i was crushing on this one guy and decided to wear a dress to impress him but it turned out the "dress" was actually a nightgown so i wore that throughout the whole trip *awkward+embarrassing*
