It's kind of surprising that we only have one channel devoted to travel when so many people are going places. Fortunately, there are some great shows you can catch that can inspire you to get off your butt and to see so many beautiful places!
You'll find yourself drooling at your television set wanting to get up and go. (I know I do.)
Past Trip Crazers even agree that the travel channel has some great shows.
Even though I enjoy watching anything related to travel, here are my 2 favorite shows that I could watch all day and everyday.
1. Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations Not only is Anthony Bourdain my travel idol, he is also my food and Journalist idol. The trifecta for the perfect job that anyone would love to do. (I'd love to be the female version of him.) Mr. Bourdain visits countries overseas where hosts treat him to local culture and cuisine. It is the best example of travel with locals and getting a taste (quite literally) of the true flavors of the city.
For being a travel and food aficionado, it is entertaining to watch the crazy antics he gets himself into. Especially when his sassy attitude tends to clash with others overseas. But, it is hard not to enjoy watching great places, great food and great entertainment.
2. Samantha Brown's Great Weekends: For tips about various locations in the US, Canada, Mexico and Europe; Samantha Brown is the Queen of Travel. She provides great tips on how to get around on a low budget, hotels to check out and local activities to participate in.
Her likable character makes watching her show a lot of fun. It seems like she lives and breathes travel and has a lot to say about it.
One Trip Crazer previously posted about wanting her job as a dream job.
Do you watch these shows? What other travel shows do you enjoy?

i love anthony bourdain and andrew zimmern's programs but am not such a big fan of samantha brown. globe trekker is a solid travel show, too.
I love Anthony! And Zimmern. And I also like to watch "Man vs. Food". There are so many great shows on Travel Channel.
Samantha Brown is a bit too boring for me.
I like Ghost Adventures, Man Vs. Food, and that Bizarre Food show.
I love these too. I love Bourdain in particular, but also Zimmern and I have to admit I watch Man v Food.
I do like Samantha Brown though, I kind of crush on her. I think she's adorable.
My wife thanks Anthony Bourdain is hot she says its the bad boy thing. but i think Samantha hasa hot body. So we wath both shows all the time.

When I was younger in the UK we used to watched Wish You Were Here and Holiday.
I have never heard of any of these
We do watch over holiday channels, this is why we choose to go to Egypt last year in the resort we were shown, we are going back to Egypt in 2010 but stopping somewhere else.
I love anthony bourdain's show and have watched them a lot. I don't know much about Samantha Brown and her show.
I remembered they had Lonely Planet (now known as Globe Trekker) part of their channel. Don't know what happen to it now. But once in awhile I'd catch them on PBS. Ian was my favourite traveler.Â
Bourdain--hell yes.
I kinda find Samatha Brown to be a tad annoying, but she is informative. I really like Andrew Zimmern too.
