  • Local Spotlight: New York Botanical Garden

With fall foliage about to kick into full swing, there is nothing like taking a stroll around the streets of New York. Before the big chill comes (Oh no...) its good to soak up these cool Autumn days in the City. If its not too windy, you might want to check out the New York Botanical Garden.

If you did not know about this garden, there is plenty of information on the website:

"The New York Botanical Garden is a museum of plants, an educational institution, and a scientific research organization. Founded in 1891 and now a National Historic Landmark, it is one of the greatest botanical gardens in the world and the largest in any city in the United States, distinguished by the beauty of its diverse landscape and extensive collections and gardens, as well as by the scope and excellence of its programs in horticulture, education, and science."

Pretty impressive right? I'm a bad New Yorker and I don't think I've visited yet. It is right next door to the Bronx Zoo (Which I have been) so you can really make a long day out of it.

It looks beautiful and I'm hoping to check it out before Old Man Winter comes knocking at my door.

By the way, its a great Dollarish deal too. On Wednesdays, admission is FREE! Take advantage of this!

Have you been to the New York Botanical Gardens? Do you enjoy flowers and nature?
