  • The 5 Best iPhone Apps For Travel

There's an App for that! I'm pretty sure there is. As a proud iPhone owner I enjoy the many applications Apple has released to make my life a little more easier.

As a traveler, there are tons of applications that can help you with everything from dining abroad to learning how to say "Where is the restroom?" in Korean.

1Wi-Fi Finder: If you are in the constant need to be "wired", this application is for you! Wi-Fi Finder tracks over 200,000 hotspots in 135 countries. Awesome! Now you can keep up with TripCrazed from anywhere

    Price: Free!

    2. Urbanspoon: Now, I use this application regardless if I am traveling or not. If you're hungry and can't decide where to eat, or you're just sick of eating from the Dollar menu, Urbanspoon does a great job at finding local cuisines.

Choose by either your location, the type of cuisine or how much you want to spend. I've found some great food spots because of this app!

    Price: Free!

    3. Taxi Magic: If you're in a rush and caught in the pouring rain and you just can't get a cab, have no fear! Cab Magic is here! With this app you can call a cab, track it and pay for it all from your iPhone. Come again? Yes!

This is probably recommended for big cities, not when you're in the middle rural China. Also, the cab company must be part of this system. On the other hand, it will provide you with at least the phone numbers of other companies.

    Price: Free!

    4. Lonely Planet Applications: There are many in this category. I as a traveler prefer Lonely Planet books, as I mentioned in a previous post. They are kind enough to provide their books and phrase books on the iPhone.

Instead of lugging a bunch of books, download it right on to your phone! Or if you're lost in translation, use the phrase book and have it say the phrase out loud for you.

    Price: $9.99 +

    5. MOMPF Currency Converter: If you're really traveling outside of the US, its hard to worry about currency conversions. This app does a great job at showing you not only the currency exchange, but you can also keep track of how you're spending and how much it costs you in your preferred currency.

Just remember not to spend too much!

    Price: Free!

Do you use any travel apps if you have an iPhone? What are your favorites?
