Looking For A Babymoon?
First there was the "Staycation", for frugal individuals to find things to do in their local area on vacation. Now we introduce, the Babymoon!
What on earth is a babymoon you ask?
It's exactly what it sounds like. Its a honeymoon with the intention of a baby in mind.
Isn't that what most honeymoon's are meant for? To conceive? Not necessarily. A babymoon has a more direct purpose.
The Caribbean island of Aruba is offering couples looking to have a baby a $300 discount if they conceive a child during their stay. Now I wonder, are more people looking for the discount or to have a child?If you are in the market of having a child, The Westin Resort located in Palm Beach has thought of a clever way to make business boom.
The couple will recieve "Conception Credit" if they can prove the baby was conceived while they were at the hotel. Hm. This could get kind of freaky. I hope couples don't send any video proof!A doctors note with the approximate date of conception will be good enough. This offer will last for stays before December 18th, 2009.
If you wanted to have a baby, would you take up this offer? Do you think this will attract a lot of customers?

I would hate to be the cleaning ladies....
I probably wouldn't. I'd want it to be on my terms, not from a corporate idea.
I was under the impression that a babymoon was not where a baby was conceived, but a last minute vacation for the parents before a new baby was born.
What the hell?
I don't think too many people will take this offer up. I mean, they're trying to attract customers with a discount because of the economy, but the discount is contingent on the couple adding a very expensive little package to their current budget in nine months - how does that make sense? It might be more appealing to couples already looking to get pregnant, but I don't think people will try to get pregnant just for a $300 discount.
i guess.. but man... so many sheets soiled.. >_<
This sounds kinda bad to me. Having a baby for the sake of a prize? Poor kid. I can see it now in 5 years...
Kid: "Mommy, where did I come from?"
Mom: "Well Sweetie, there was an offer from a hotel for credits if we had a baby there so we went & we won!....oh yeah & you came nine months later too".
