  • How To Pack A Weekend Bag

You just can't wait for the weekend to begin! Maybe you're staying over at your best friends house. Perhaps you're taking a mini vacation a few hours from home. No matter where your trip is, there is an essential weekend bag to pack your goodies for your trip.

Obviously, this isn't a serious long vacation where you take everything but the kitchen sink.

But sometimes we tend to do that.

You might ABSOLUTELY need your hair curler, 3 outfits for the day or PS3 system. Relax. You don't need to bring everything. This is only going to be 2-3 days.

Anyone could use some structure to pack a weekend bag. Just keep it simple!

Real Simple features a great article about how to pack a Weekend bag.

Some extra tips I would add would be find items that kill two birds with one stone. For instance, for women, pack a sweater that goes with everything, whether you are wearing jeans and a top or a pretty dress. Dusters are a good choice for this.

For the guys, instead of packing a video game console and tons of video games, invest in a portable game system like the PSP. Since its only the weekend, you can use it during your commute and you can carry a ton of games without too much bulk.

How do you pack a weekend bag? What are your tips to not overpacking?

I would only bring one pair of pants, maybe two just to be on the safe side.  I need my flat iron and curling iron.  For some reason I always pack like a week's worth of socks and underwear.  I don't know why haha.

Every time we go away for a couple days there is always something I end up leaving behind. What is worst is if you are going away with your hubby and kids you end up leaving something behind and you end up buying what what you need to get.It is annoying. What I have started doing is make a list of do not forget's I am not sure if it works yet but I am going away next weekend and I had done up a list so hopefully I won't forget anything.

I bring one pair of pants, two shirts, underwear, one pair of socks, flip-flops/ sandles, shorts, towel, toothbrush and toothpaste. Only essentials.
