Image SourceImagine having such a successful book that someone found a way to spoof it. I don't know if that would be an insult or a compliment, but either way, its entertaining for us readers. Many of us are familiar with the book "Eat, Pray, Love" a bestselling true story about a woman who changes her life story by divorcing her husband and going on a yearlong trip of recovery. It follows her journey through Italy, India and Indonesia.
I guess it caters as a "Chick Book" because it tells the story of an empowering woman. (Although it is a great story about being independent and going after what you want in life as well)
If you want a book completely opposite of this storyline, read on. In Drink, Play, F@#k, a husband travels the world to rediscover his passion. He goes drinking in Ireland, gambling in Las Vegas and finds pleasure in Thailand. He does some pretty wild things that you have to read the book to find out. But in the end, he also teaches us that life is about finding things that are unexpected.
Have you read either book? Which one would you like better: The original or the spoof?

Both good books. I've read them both.
Both recommended reads, imo.

I've never heard of either books until now. I suspect I would enjoy the spoof more, though.
