The Coffee Named Marocchino
In the early morning, many shops weren't opened yet. Basically, we put in time to sample some Italian foods and had a glimpse on the morning activities in this interesting town called Vatican City in Italy.
People were rushing to catch public transportation, some peddlers were setting up their small souvenir stands. Lots of tourists were hanging around the place. Finally, we found a breakfast bar that operated early in the morning.
Nicole: Buon Giorno!
Italian guy: Buon Giorno!
Nicole: Mi scusi, Parla Inglese?
Italian guy: Sure. What can I help you?
(I simply glimpsed at the menu on the wall)
Nicole: Can I have a cup of Marocchino?
(He stunned and looked at me with a pair of big round eyes, puzzled! *Silence* I quickly referred back to the menu)
Nicole: Oh! I am sorry. I mean can I have a cup of Marocchino?
Italian guy: HAAAA...HHAaaaaaa...Interesting name! First time I heard people order Marocchino!
(He looked at Lexson, both of them laughed at me, it was really LOUD! He turned around to tell his colleagues about Marocchino in the language that I don't understand. After that, all of them looked at me, and laughed.)
Italian guy: You are Japanese or Chinese?
Nicole: Chinese *A bit shy*
Italian guy: Well, this is the Marocchino that we specially make for a pretty Chinese lady like you. No offense, we really like the name.(All of them, included Lexson, laughed all over again. They bantered on me. Although I was shy, I forced a smile. Finally, I laughed as well!)

The Pizza Romana
The virtuous Italian guy who teased me for "Marocchino"Total breakfast costs: EURO12.50 @ LU Bar Cafeteria in Italy, near Vatican City.
In the bar, there is a slight difference in pricing for the meals that you order; between, having breakfast at the counter bar and having a seat at your own table. We definitely would like to enjoy our breakfast in the comfortable way that we are used to.
Well, I found this is a very interesting experience that I came across in Vatican City. Anyway, it was quite funny yet ridiculous. Lexson teases me for "Marocchino" until today.
Have you ever had language troubles abroad or any funny stories in your travels?

Yup
Yup. A popular type of coffee in Milan is a “marocchino”, a Moroccan coffee. This is not the term used in Rome. But, is getting increasingly common among bartenders in Rome now.
Yeah, I think it's hard when you go to a place where you only know a little tiny bit of the language!
