  • The Destiny of Octopus

One day, I was indulging in a cup of Greek coffee in a cafe, nearby the harbor. I saw a man who looked like a fisherman, pulling a rope with an octopus at the other end.
I became very curious. Unexpectedly, he hit the big octopus on a rock, from left to right, and right to left, like playing with a yo-yo. All the tourists, including me, were shocked.

He did this for approximately 10 minutes. He is absolutely strong for doing this. Gosh! I was in doubt whether the octopus could resist from the acute pain, was half faint with nausea, or merely dead.

Well, I understood that the octopus needs to hang underneath the sun and bask it for a few days until it becomes soft. After this process, the octopus becomes practically useful.
You grill it with seasonings, consume with lemon, and you have the traditional Greek way to enjoy an octopus. Surprisingly, it is very delicious yet mouthwatering.

In Hawaii, fisherman will bring the octopus back home and put them in a machine. You press a button and everything is done. It is very funny every time I try to imagine myself as one of the octopus.

Being interrupt from a sweet dream, about to have a small glance of what is happening, but already being "washed" & "dried" in the washing machine. Oh no, this is not a good way to die!

I am sorry, Mr/Mrs/Ms Octopus! No matter where are "you" are coming from: The Mediterranean, Atlantic, or Pacific Ocean. This is The Destiny of An Octopus.

Would you indulge in eating Greek styled Octopus? What strange food methods have you seen abroad?
