It's hard to not be the girl that brings an entire suitcase filled with makeup, hair products and skin care items. If you are very high maintenance, this could be a huge problem and you might want to keep reading this list.
Even for guys, it gets difficult bringing lots of shaving products and lugging around with it. Don't forget, there are high maintenance guys out there as well that take care of their skin and hair. (And we love those guys for taking care of themselves!)
With so many restrictions on what you can carry on planes, sometimes you have to think twice about what you really need. The whole point of traveling is to visit another country with a light load, not to bring your house on vacation with you!
And even though there are so many travel sized items, if you're going on a long trip, a 3 ounce bottle of shampoo won't do it. (If you have long, thick hair, it absolutely won't cut it!)
Most likely you'll have to bring full sized items with you. This can be a hassle, especially if you're trying to backpack and keep things light abroad, it can get annoying to bring so many items.
Here are some essentials you can use that are compact, portable and travel friendly.
1.Travel Vanity Organizer
This is a great item for the woman on the go! Not only does it organize all your makeup items, but it comes with a vanity light so you'll always look good. (Even after a 10 hour flight)
2.Dry Shampoo

A strange concept to think about: Shampoo without water? Dry Shampoo is designed to absorb excess oil and product build-up. I'm not sure if it replaces real shampoo, but I know people that swear by it. If you're going on a short trip or you're trying to make a good hairstyle last, this could be a good investment.
3.Pocket Soap Leaves

Something that is all purpose and triples for something useful is always a plus in my book. These soap leaves can be used for hands, face or hair. A bonus: Use it to wash clothes or dishes. They dissolved completely and create soapy suds. Very neat.
4. Travel Shaving Oil

This tiny bottle of shaving oil will last you years! It is mildly scented and is used before shaving to turn stubble into baby soft skin. The company claims one bottle gives more than 100 shaves.
What are some useful travel items you use to look good?

Wow, I carry no vanity items with me anywhere. The farthest I go is carrying toothpaste and toothbrush. Yeah, I sometimes get pissed at the tiny amounts of shampoo/conditioner offered at hotels, but it's really not that bad. I love being low maintenance. My sister, on the other hand, is very high maintenance. I'm glad I'm not her - her suitcase is always the heaviest and most overstuffed!
Oooh, this seems really cool. I'm going to have to look into that dry shampoo stuff.
This post makes me worry. I'm planning on studying abroad in Japan for -- maybe a year or at least half. As an African American woman, I have no clue what the heck I'm going to do with my hair for that year. *sigh*
Where does one buy a travel vanity organizer? I've googled and cannot find!
i buy febreeze in travel size for the times you just can't wash your clothes but need to wear them multiple times
