  • Travel in Style with Nintendo!

Tripcrazed meets HardestLevel! Hmm, what would you call such a union? CrazedLevel? TripHardest? Some of you who are not broke college-age people like me might be thinking about last-minute weekend vacations as a last hurrah before school really gets underway. How are you getting to your destination, though? Car, train, bus, plane...these are all viable options.

And all of them are dreadfully boring.

If you really want to travel in style, take a cue from the classic games of the Nintendo catalog and employ one of these five strategies for getting from place to place:

    Surf on a Pokemon

Sure, boat travel has its perks. Especially if you are on a cruise ship like the S.S. Anne. But who knows what kind of riff-raff you'll run into, constantly challenging to you a Pokemon-based competition?

Who needs that hubbub anyway? Skip the high prices and crowds by surfing a Pokemon to your island of choice. Lapras, Blastoise...heck, you can even ride a Snorlax's girth to your getaway location.

Fat Pokemon: the ride of champions.

    Ride a horse

How cool would it be to ride a horse around while you slay evildoers and rescue princesses? Better yet, this horse never gets too tired and will run to you at the sounding of an ocarina. Epona is a classy horse, and is just the choice for the classy traveler.
    Warp Whistle

Talk about being whisked away. Warp Whistles will literally sweep you off your feet into another world. Just be careful you choose the right world, though. You don't want to be stuck Whistle-less in World 4 of SMB3. Those Koopas will eat you alive!

    Blast Barrels

Want some high-octane travel? Look no further than the Blast Barrels of the Donkey Kong universe! Just hop in and you'll be rocketed through the stratosphere with ease! Do be careful of the Zingers, though. Those hornets can be awful nasty.

    Super Star

The ultimate in interstellar travel. Kirby's Super Stars are the best way to get around bar-none. Not only do you travel faster than the speed of sound, but you are impervious to all attacks. If there's one thing to be learned from video games, it's that stars make you invincible. Hooray!

If you could travel to a getaway location with one of these methods, which would you choose?
