Even though summer is coming to an end and my tan will eventually fade away, I get excited for the Fall season since it usually means the start of The Amazing Race! I've been following the show since its debut in 2001 and I've been passionately in love with it ever since! Its a great slice of travel pie without stepping foot outside.
I love the concept of traveling the world period, but having all your expenses paid and being on television? That's a great bonus! I guess the only catch would be choosing the right partner that is equally as competitive and willing to do anything to assure 1st place at the finish line. On The Amazing Race, its not only a show about travel, but personal relationships. It delves into deeper issues between the partners and how they adapt to certain situations, under pressure and in another country for crying out loud!
If you've never seen The Amazing Race, you should definitely catch it this season. Of course, its reality television and an hours worth of CBS doesn't compare to actually being out there, but the show has turned me on to a lot of places I've never heard of.
And if you're a big fan like me, you should go ahead and apply to be on the show! I couldn't apply until I was 21 (Which I am definitely over now) so now its just a matter of finding the right partner! The person I would love to go with is traveling at the moment, so we have a unique circumstance that I'd like to call: "The partners that spent a year apart and reunited to travel"

I've seen it maybe once or twice, and it is pretty cool for a t show. Plus, they get to travel the world which is awesome :)
i don't really watch amazing race cos i hardly watch tv. but anyway, i doubt i would join. the best about amazing race is when i see couples or family members who could still talk things out nicely and bonded even stronger. i can't see myself doing that because i'm a bad tempered girl haha.
I've been watching The Amazing Race since the first season too! It's a really good show that you get sucked into. It opens the doors to people that are stuck at home and wonder about traveling and just the world in general. I think my favorite season was the season with the hippies, BJ and Tyler. I was SO glad they won! I was rooting for them, for sure. And the most recent season was intense. My favorite team won too (Tammy and Victor).
In my AP Psychology class I took in high school, we had to make a list of 100 things we wanted to do before we die. Number one on my list was "Be a contestant on Amazing Race." :)
I LOVE the Amazing Race... I love thinkig about who I would take with me... I still haven't decieded!
I also have been watching it since the first season like you guys! Whenever there's a Roadblock, my best friend and I always ask ourselves which one of us would do it. I don't ever want to do the eating ones
