Howard County, Maryland Must Be A Friendly Place To Visit.
Howard County Maryland is a community that chose to be a model of civility. They chose respect, consideration, empathy, and tolerance as their fundamental values, enhancing the community's quality of life.
The Choose Civility initiative was inspired by Dr. Forni's 25 rules of considerate conduct outlined in his new book "Choosing Civility." Howard County has chosen to promote 15 of his rules as guiding ideas and principles that resonate with the community. Choose Civility promotes the following:Here are the "Principles of Civility"Pay attention
Listen
Speak kindly
Assume the best
Respect others' opinions
Respect other people's time and space
Be inclusive
Acknowledge others
Accept and give praise
Apologize earnestly
Assert yourself
Take responsibility
Accept and give constructive criticism
Refrain from idle complaints
Be a considerate guest
What do you think? I think it is a way to infuse Christian values without crossing the line between church and state. Have you been to Howard County MD? What do you think of their values?

I used to live there. It was the best place to grow up and will always be very dear to me.
I did not know that about Howard County, and I literally live 1 minute away from it's border! Those principles doesn't seem to bad to adhere to.
Hmm, I suddenly feel like going to Columbia Mall.

Hrm, I live in MD and had no idea about these principles either.
I would move there in a heart beat but my husband wouldn't fit in

love howard county, but some of the people tend to 'stick their nose up' to other people.
