Going to Amsterdam! Any advice?
Hi all! I'm heading to Amsterdam in a couple of weeks. Any advice and suggestions on things to do would be awesome. I do plan to get bikes and ride around town. Are boat rides in the canal a good idea? I'm open to all suggestions! Thanks!

I guess hash brownies are a given.
We had a couple of days in Amsterdam last summer and we visited the Rijksmuseum, Anne Frank Huis, Van Gogh museum, and Bloemenmarkt. Pictures and text are here: http://prullmw.xanga.com/662694414/day-4-amsterdam-netherlands/
Ahhh. A fimilar site. And yes, boat rides a a good idea.
Everything is awesome in Amsterdam! Don't miss the Anne Frank house and go early there.
The city has got a booklet for discount which you can buy. It's worth it. http://www.amsterdam.info/pass/
P.S.: Not sure if going by bike is a good idea for a tourist. They are quite radical bikers there. lol
two words: Marijuana... Legal
SMOKE WEED.
If the smoking habits of folks in Amsterdam have changed, I'd say a canal boat ride is a nice way to give your feet a rest but be prepared for a stinky experience if smoking is still allowed on the boats.
Advice? Be SURE to visit the coffee shops!!!
