Three Reasons Why I Want to Go to Tokyo
Okay, so I already love Japan for quite a while here are some of the reasons...
1. The food - I love Japanese food lik Sushi and such!
2. I gotta admit a guilty pleasure - I love anime shows (like Pokemon, Case Closed and such)
and utmost
3. The Japanese fashion! I love the Harajuku style...Gwen Stefani even wrote a song about the Harajuku girls. Well, here are some pics for those of you who never heard about Harajuku fashion before...
What do you think about the Harajuku style? Is it even something you can wear in everyday life if you don't live in Japan? And where can people in the USA (like me) find clothes suiting this style?

I have some Japanese outfits from www.cosmates.jp. They have all sorts of clothes that Japanese girls wear, from frilly, gothic lolita dresses to anime costumes. I'm sure you can find something very similar to those dresses in the Gwen Stefani music video, and the skirts and bows from the second to last picture at that Cosmates site.
I loveee harajuku style! I don't think I would wear in a day to day setting though, it is a little outrageous. That's a LOT of accessories.
I love Japanese stuff. Especially the fashion. It's so different. While brands like CoCo Chanel have bland colors like brown and black, Japanese have neon colors. And another reason you should add is the sites. I heard, they have many beautiful things to see! x3
Wow... that fashino is pretty awesome. Don't think I'd wear it everyday... maybe once during like... Halloween lol.
I love Japan though. I'd like to travel there someday.
I want to go to Tokyo too!
I love how they aren't afraid to wear whatever they think is cute and they always go all out!
I would love japan for the food and the sexy boys and probably the really nice scenery and weather. :p
I want to go to Japan someday not just for the fashion but the whole entire culture itself. I love how they aren't afraid to wear the different types of clothing and mixing them all together. The second picture always scares me: the Ganguro Girls. O.o It's just the white eyeliner and the orange tan look is... I can't find the words for it. xD
Seeing the 4th picture, I really want those lollipops!
I really want to go to Japan. Hopefully this next time next year I will getting ready to spend a semester abroad in Japan. I don't like the Ganguro girl style. I don't think I would wear that style. I think in order to dress in the Harajuku style all you need is some creative thinking. Taking regular clothes that you could buy at ant shop and mixing it up, wearing it a way that no one thought possible. If you want to wear specificly lolita then there are sites online. http://lolita-handbook.livejournal.com/2466.html#cutid1 This has a list of places you could buy from.
i agree about the food but not the style, at least not the harajuku style. it just looks weird. only in japan will you find the harajuku style. i've never seen people in the US wear clothes like that or maybe i just dont get out much.
the Harajuku style can sometimes be OVERBOARD but if you keep it to a minimum, it can be pretty cute!
i'm not a fan of the clothes. i do like the food, though.
Gwen Stefani ruined the image of harajuku for me, although I can appreciate the fashion still. I like fashion from Japan that's a bit more tame, but still wild and fun.
Japan is reli an amazng place. i admit that i do love its culture but..just parts of it actually coz other parts like Harajuku style reli scares me. Not only their appearences but the hidden value this culture shows. Anyway, i think i should respect their cultures.
miss Sushi sooo much...
I love harajuku but I would never wear it. It does not make sense for me to wear it. It originally started as a way for young people to express themselves on their off-days from strictly uniformed schools. I think of it primarily as Japanese culture. I would much rather admire them work the look than try to walk out on any given day dressed up to highly mismatched clothing. It's wonderful when you see it on them in Japan, I'm sure. Something tells me I'd get a lot of strange looks on public transportation on my way to school.
Also, I think there can be much better examples of harajuku than provided. Those look fairly bland to me (except for the first and last).
I used to be quite taken with every aspect of Japanese culture. I still am so I would love to go there some day.
It's as if this post was meant for me ! You hit my top 3 reasons, plus they're really advanced when it comes to technology.
I like Harajuku when taken in moderation (I'm more of a lolita fan). I mainly care for the cute accessories 'cause all I have where I live is Sanrio. I wish America could adopt this fun fashion like Japan. Break out of the ordinary. :)
The second picture isn't Harajuku, is it? I'm pretty sure that the subculture with horrible tacky makeup and whatever is Ganguro.
I used to get sad whenever I think about the upbeat expression of fashion in Harajuku because America will never allow such a practice to exist. So so sad..
I LOVE TOKYO.
Haha, weiiiird. I'd like to visit though.
