Last week, Princeton Review released the 2009 list of the nation's top party schools. When my friends aren't busy working to make their schools top this list, they like to try and visit some of their friends at these schools, thinking it's where they'll have the best time.
Topping the 2009 list are:
1. Penn State University, State College, Pa
2. University of Florida, Gainesville, Fla.
3. University of Mississippi, Oxford, Miss.
4. University of Georgia, Athens, Ga.
5. Ohio University, Athens, Ohio
Click here to see the full list.
Did you attend any of the schools on the Princeton Review list? Would you ever travel to any of them?

I almost attended OU. It's a very nice school.. and great for partying too! Biggest halloween party in the US!
My friend is going to #9- Florida State University, and she told me to visit her, so I'll go there. My college is near #16- University of Tennessee, so I've been to their library and what not- not to party though, haha. I've passed a lot of them, though.
Hahaha aww, I was so very close to going to Tulane University.
University of Tampa should be on that list !!!!
Looks to me like a list of colleges to avoid.
There is definitely something to be said for the "college experience" (i learned a lot more at my second university, where i had a social life and did a little of my own brand of "partying" (nothing like these "party" schools, though)), but the ultimate objective of the university experience is an education. People who go to college just to party are ruining the entire system.
When I was a senior in high school, I partied at Penn State once. (I applied there and got in but ended up not going) It was fun. I go to University of Connecticut, and I'm kind of surprised it wasn't in the top twenty...most of the people who come to our spring weekend aren't even from the university!
I attend Ohio University. I think it's reputation is far greater than the actual partying that takes place. The "parties" make national news, but in actuality it's the people that visit, rather than the students, that cause all the trouble. They come with high expectations and seek to fulfill them. 34/42 arrests made at Palmerfest were from visitors.
Lol, my brother was so close to going to Penn State, then backed out and now goes to Rutgers. Rutgers has pretty big parties too, they're probably not as crazy though.
they party at schools there?
go figure.
i grew up in the wrong fricken country. fml.
ahaha.
Penn State is a very nice school. I know plenty of people who don't go there just to party; they actually do work and such also. So one can go there to learn things and not just party. I'm planning on applying to Penn State because they have an excellent engineering program, despite the fact that it might be great for parties also. If you're serious about what you're doing, you'll be able to focus yourself to get the work done also.
I attended the University of North Dakota (18th). It's a party school because it is in the middle of nowhere and there is nothing to do. Grand Forks isn't very college friendly. The only thing open past like 11pm are the bars and Walmart. So it's always party time...
I attend the University of Georgia, and I can attest to that fact--if you want to part, Athens is a pretty great place to go. However, there's more than that there. It has a GREAT music scene, which what I'm most active in outside of the school. :P
@shes_lump@xanga - my sister is attending OU this year- she's very excited for the Halloween party haha.
I've partied at a few different places. Numerous times at PSU, Rutgers,Temple, Albright College...honestly to me they're all the same.
none of the UCs? HAHAH ouch! it means we're not fun :( except for SB but er, somehow that never really makes it up to UC status... for some reason.. *cough*...
but lol, UCSD = uni of the socially dead.
most of them seem like hillbilly country. wtf is north dacota? haha, jk... well except for florida i suppose.
I can't decide if I should be proud or disappointed that my Alma mater didn't make the list.
