When thinking of "America the Beautiful," destinations like the Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls and Mount Rushmore are some of the places that probably most often come to mind. While I haven't been to any of these places and would still like to go, I found this article with a list of 16 of "America's Hidden Treasures"; places perhaps not as popular as what I've listed above, but nevertheless places with as much beauty, or so this article claims.
Click here to see the full list. Have you ever been to any of these places? Would you take a trip to see one of these places instead of a destination to somewhere such as the Grand Canyon?

I've been to Glacier Bay, Alaska. Gorgeous!
And the mountains picture in the pictured (Guadalupe Mountains). Very nice as well. :)
I'd go to any/all of the others as well.
I've been to the Guadalupe Mountains. They are stunning and incredible. That picture doesn't even begin to define their beauty. I want to go to a lot of those places, but fear really keeps me from going.
I'm surprised the Painted Mountains weren't listed, or Carlsbad Caverns.
any list that mentions ohio is a good one.
I've been to Mammoth Cave (just last week actually) and absolutely loved it!!
Waimoku Falls, Hawaii = Place to be.
It's beautiful.
I've been to at least four of those. Roosevelt, Glacier National Park, Redwood Forest, Black Canyon...maybe more, don't remember.
That article is so great! Thanks for sharing it into us. I’ve learned something new. For people in the mood to go to a food festival and Chicago is just too pretentious, you could try going to the Bite of Seattle. Bite of Seattle is the food festival in the Emerald City, jewel of the Pacific Northwest (except to misanthropic residents of the east side of Washington), and it goes on every year on the third weekend of July, this year the 17th through the 19th. You can browse restaurants and vendors in Seattle Center down to the Piers and Pike Place. (Those in the know go to Piroshky – best food in Pike's!) Bands will be playing, plenty of great food – going to Bite of Seattle might be worth a fast payday loan
My dad's been to Mammoth Cave. I have yet to go. I've probably close to the North Carolina places listed, never actually there though.
OMG, Isle Royale! I LOVE that area of Michigan. Pictured Rocks is amazing, too. It's nearby on the northern edge of the Upper Peninsula.
Boring states are boring. lol
Thanks for sharing. I'll take trips to see some of those places.
