Each year, if I remember, I will watch the New York City Marathon on TV. I am no runner myself— I can't even do a quarter mile without collapsing— but it's sometimes fun to watch the aerial views of the masses of color and people running together in a blur. I do have one friend, though, who is an avid runner and completed both the New York City Marathon and the Philadelphia Marathon in high school.
Many marathoners, like my friend, wish to travel all over the world to get to some of the most exciting marathons.
If you're into running and travel (or are like me and chose to sit while watching others sweat)

Have you ever ran in any of these extreme marathons? Do you hope to one day?

Nope.
my husband has, but i don't think i could do a full marathon! LOL.
I have not participated in a marathon.
Marathon du Médoc sounds interesting though :3 I'd like to participate in that one day.
Ha! The one in France would be a challenge to finish at all! Why run through all those wine tastings? I'm putting the Marathon du Medoc on my bucket list of races.
I'm qualified for Boston and I believe the New York ING, but the Dead Sea marathon looks fun!
I enjoy watching marathons and triathlons. I trained for a half marathon a couple years ago, but I wasn't able to get across the state in time to participate in the race. :( I'd like to complete a half or full marathon one day still.
I run in a breast cancer marathon every october =]
