Last summer when I visited Chicago, like every tourist, I went to check out the view from the Sears Tower. Unfortunately for me, though, they only just opened this week what has to be the coolest part of the tower. Now, instead of just viewing Chicago's skyscrapers, flat landscapes and Lake Michigan from inside glass windows, you can actually stand (or sit or lay) on a glass floor connected to the outside of the building.
According to
DesignCrave, the new glass balcony, called, The Ledge, rests 1,353 in the air and is a completely transparent rectangle of floor, ceiling and walls; the design hoping to impress the feeling that you are floating in the middle of The Windy City.
Would you ever stand on The Ledge?

Scared of heights and have vertigo, so most definetly not. I have stood at the lookout and, you know, looked out. It is all because of the glass bottom and the whole pschological freakout of seeing everything below you, that makes me not want to try out The Ledge.
Of course!
No. I'm so afraid of heights. I don't even go near second floor balcony's.
oh HELL TO THE NO!
I'd do it.
I'd be terrified, but I'd do it.
Oh yes, I live in Chicago, it could be fun sometime.
Wow. Scary.
I'd do it though. That'd be awesome!
oh... i really wanna be up there. i'm not afraid of heights! :D
i live in chicago, and ive been trying to find time to go!
Looks terrifying. I'd try it.
HOLY SHIT YES!!! the only time i got vertigo was when we went hiking in the huangshan mountains in china. i love being up high! my bf gets vertigo pretty easily though =/
Definitely, but it's so expensive to go to the top of the Sears Tower. I don't think I'd want to shell out more money.
Wow. I'd do it, but it would be scary!
The words HELL NAW come to mind , there is a first time for everything , so when the news breaks that the floor collapsed and X amount of people were killed .......maybe its just my fear of heights talking
we were there the day it opened and the wait was a couple of hours......maybe next time.
I have acrophobia unless I'm on my mountain bike so that would be NO.
Yep, I like heights. That would be quite an experience.
hell no.
I def would. Even though id probably be shaking like a leaf.
Definitely, but not during the winter.
they have a similar window view on the floor in Tokyo Tower where you can stand on it and see below... it was a little scary .. and this Ledge with clear surroundings all around... sounds fun :D
That looks crazy horrifyingly cool!!! I would probably be hesitant to stand on it but I know I would probably stand on it. Why go all the way to Chicago to "look" at the glass ledge and waste the oppurtunity? so hell yes I'd do it!
WAAY too scary. NO.
That looks like fun.
i would be soo scared at first.. but if i didn't i would regret it.. and once i'm standing/sitting/laying on it.. i won't want to move!
