  • The Explorer in the Footsteps of Chris Columbus

It's a hot Saturday afternoon and The Explorer decided to walk in the footsteps of Christopher Columbus to do a little exploring today. Armed with no water, no map and no cap, The Explorer set out for the unknown on foot.

    Fun on Foot!

    Unidentifiable fruit from the roadside.

Can you spot the urban city beyond the rural landscape?

Suddenly, The Explorer misses Tekong, field camps, leopard-crawling in
the vegetation and that palm-sized, red spider hanging off the tip of his M16.

    Durians!

Any illegal puppymills operating in there?
The Explorer swore he heard barkings coming from in there.

The Explorer ended up at Farm Mart!

    The Explorer's guide over there.

Water receptacles like these are aplenty in the 'kiddies' area.
The Explorer notices there are tiny fishes in most of the receptacles but he wonders that those
receptacles without fishes (like the one pictured here), are they potential breeding grounds for mosquitoes?

That bowl is filled with food for the guinea pigs.
The Explorer can't figure out what the piggies are feeding on?
Bits of solid pellets could be seen half buried in the mysterious powder and
The Explorer wonders could the leftover pellets have disintegrated into powder?
Does that mean, the leftover food in the bowl are not cleared on a regular basis?

These are the two little piggies who seemed a little malnourished.
(Who would have the appetite to eat out of that disgusting bowl? The Explorer wouldn't!)

The two horny goats. 这里的气味简直是 “ 震粪(振奋)人心 ”!
The Explorer decides to flee as fast as his feet could
carry him before the foul smell infiltrated his brain cells.

Thus, it was Sayonara to Farm Mart!

    And Konichiwa to Fish City!

Pearl Scales, The Explorer's favouritest goldfish!

    Red-colored Oscars.
    The Explorer
has never seen these specimens before!

The Explorer have taken lots more pictures of the fishies for documentation but his shutter speed
wasn't fast enough to capture them in motion hence, most of the pictures are a flash of blur instead.

As night falls, The Explorer could get a little imaginative with all the shadows and sounds.
*Imagines a Pontianak or Kum Kum jumping out from behind the bushes*
It ain't helping that he's trudging in the dark all by himself.

Ahhh, civilization! So near, yet so far!

The Explorer is now suffering from two aching feet, a burnt nose and two rosy cheeks. Where will his next expedition bring him?
