If You Had a Time Machine Would You Go Back or Forward?
For generations and generations, people have been fascinated with the concept of time travel. Countless movies such as Back to the Future and kids’ shows like Phil of the Future have some Americans fixated on the idea of living in another time.
If you had a time machine, would you rather travel back to the past or blast forward to the future? What would you want to see if you could look back or forward?

I would use the time machine for good, not too cheat in future exams.
Forward.
On to the future my dear!! I gettin' my own Firefly class ship!!
@Lynnjynh9315@xanga - Oh hell yes.
Back, most def.
I wouldn't dare do so, because the action of traveling through time at a rate other than 1 second per second would alter either the past or the future from its intended course, thus creating an alternate reality that could have far-reaching consequences for potentially billions of people.
Then again, there's always Einstein's general theory of relativity, so if I hop in a spaceship and travel near the speed of light, and return in 5 years, approximately 50 years will have passed on earth, or something like that.
Besides, who am I to tamper with the space-time continuum?
August 2005. Back to a calmer point in my life. To a trip I enjoyed. And a chance to live the last four years of my life differently.
Back.
I would go back to the only time I saw my favorite band (who is now retired) in concert because I don't remember it at all.
i think i'd like to go back to handle some things differently
If it was go to, and stay? Forward...because...if I could only look and see what the future is gonna be like, ima look at all of my technology like crap...
If it was go to and come back...Forward (HA!), seeing the future and how everything is running is a dream for a techno-nerd like me.
Back, for sure.
if i went back in time, i'd love to visit the 20's. i love 20's culture! or the 60-70s cause i'd love to see those cars son! or just a few years back to hang with my BFF who passed.
if i went in the future, i'd want to see who i married. that way when i see him back in real time, i'm like, yep, thats the one!
I would go backwards just because I love history. I truly don't want to know where I'm going to end up, or where anyone will, for that matter, until it happens.
I will go back and invest on Microsoft back when it started... OK maybe on Berkshire Hathaway too ;).
Both if it was possible. But future if I could only do one. I want to see where we are going and what is going to happen. That would be awesome.
Id go backwards, I'm in no rush to see the future I don't want to see it I want to see it when it comes,
however, if I could go back I would changer some things which hopefully would ensure an even more prosperous present and future. xD
I'd go back, maybe talk to some famous dead guy.
I wouldn't ever want to know what my future was going to be like.. that'd make everything so mundane, knowing what I would expect out of life and that it was unavoidable. Haha, I'd go backwards to see if anyone there had some advice for the future !
If I owned one... I would definitely do both... YEAH!
Back. I wish I never dated him. He's a waste of a first love. Waste of my time and it still kills me.
<3
back, to see the 20s in NYC, to go back to Spring Break 09 and live my life differently from than, and to spend more time with Aaron before he passed
BACKWARD
I want to see the times when I was younger not when I have a bunch of wrinkles. And perhaps change my life... (sticking tongue out)
The Future, Bring back technology, get rich
A lot of my favorite musicians are either dead, old and beastly-looking, or retired now. So I'd love to go to the 70's when they were all hot and rockin out. I'd actually get to see a concert!
Another part of me wants to go to the future. The present is feeling very hard for me.
For me. Both but if i had to pick between them. I would go backwards, and redone some things differently. I have regretted a lot that i know i cant change, sometimes i just want a 2nd chance to change them.
hm, if i had to choose only one, i'd go back. but i'm pretty curious about where i'm going to end up in the future though. i'm sure the time machine will be able to go both ways.
