I Feel Like I'm Forgetting Something...
I am going to be in Europe for three months and on the weekends I will be able to travel. And I am super exicted about this. But the list of things I need when I am going to be away seems very normal. Things like backpack, nalgene, walking sneakers, doctor scholls inserts, phrase books for different languages, and maps are on the list.
I can't help but feel like I am forgetting something. Any ideas for what I should bring?

clothing apparently.
universal adapter.... cell phone charger/laptop charger/ camera charger and other misc cables... Oh I always have to take my own tampons too because it never fails that when I need them while traveling I can only find the jumbo ones or none at all and I need the tiny little ones. I like to make a copy (front and back) of all my important documents too and leave them in the hotel safe or with the people whose home I am staying at. That way if anything is lost or stolen it is simpler to prove what I had and get it replaced.
@MangoWOW@xanga - ahhh clothing is optional in many parts of Europe.... and you can always find a store...
@echois23@xanga - lol
toothbrush! I always leave it in the bathroom =(
i usually go through every room in my house and think of what i normally need from that room. if you've got them all, then you should be covered. :)
sunglasses and sunscreen. If you are heading to London, its boiling at the moment.Camera obviously and not forgetting to change some money at a place where you can get a good rate.
Camera and charger is a must. And a good book to read to kill time when on plane, train, bus, etc.
@echois23@xanga - I highly second all of that, and also, I have trouble finding my facewash and shampoo in certain countries. They don't seem to have many acne washes or stuff with salicylic acid over there, so if you're skin or hair is picky, just bring your own. I know it seems like a waste of space, but when you use up all the stuff over there, you can toss the bottles and use the extra luggage space for souvenirs!
Also, Mountain Dew is nearly impossible to find, but I'm not sure what you'd do about that. We did manage to find some in the Czech Republic eventually, I think...
skincare and makeup
preetylenses - I couldn't agree more. Get your foreign currency before you go. It's not very easy, but here are a few suggestions:
All of these are online ordering companies.
www.Foreignmoney.com - Allows you to order currency online and offers discounted rates if you pay with your checking account (Must allow 5 days to clear the e-Check payment). If you must pay with a credit card, the rate is higher, but NO cash advance fees.
www.ez-Forex.com - Allows you to order currency. Pay by credit card (Cash advance fees apply) or Check (Must wait seven business days).
www.travelex.com - Allows you to order currency, but you can only pay by credit card (cash advance fees apply).
Check them out.
Oh, and don't forget your toothbrush. No sense in paying for small stuff you already have. Most importantly, have fun!
Good luck
Noe R.
@MangoWOW@xanga - haha, that i won't forget! but extra socks are always good.
