  • Google Competitor Offers Travelers Something New

If you have ever used Live Search, Windows Live Search or MSN Search, you may have recently noticed these search engines taking on a new name: Bing.  Bing, Microsoft’s new search engine, went live on June 3 and is said to be in high competition with the greatly loved Google search engine.

While news reports have said Bing isn’t necessarily gaining on Google, I did find a cool feature on the site for us travel lovers.  Set up like Expedia or Orbitz, but perhaps with a nicer design, the travel section on Bing allows users to find and book flights, search for hotels and link to car rentals, cruises and vacation destinations.  The site has a section for deals on last minute flights, and will also advise you when the best time to book your flight is, using what Bing calls “Farecast Technology.”

What do you think about Bing’s travel section? Is it different from sites like Expedia or Orbitz?
