For the most part I feel if I'm going away somewhere it better be to actually DO things. I'm not going to spend money so I can sleep, ya feel me? :P
I'm not into touristy things like going to landmarks and just looking. I want to do crazy things! I think one of my favorite things was the canopy tour. They were so exhilarating. lol

Bhutan.  Hands down.  I've never been but it's one of those remote places only a few non-natives ever get to explore.  But I've got no money.  And a Bar exam to study for.  Someone let me live vicariously, please.

One ideal thing to do all summer? That would be going to somewhere (ANYWHERE) to take pictures that would win me 1st place in my county fair.

honestly, i wouldnt mind doing either. just getting away is iight for me. but if i had to pick one, it would be to do things

Both sound like great ideas, but realistically, I'll be spending some of my summer backpacking up on the shores of Lake Superior or in the Porcupine Mountains.

I wish I could go backpacking in Europe.

I'm going to Florida this summer, but I'd much rather go to DR. Florida's alright though, minus the fact that I go there every year :|

I went to Europe last summer, and visiting all the touristy sites was exciting, yet quite aggravating at the same time. I was never able to get a shot of myself or of my family at the site without tons of other people in the same picture as I was. The streets were so crowded, the stores were crowded, the restaurants were crowded.. everything was so aggravating.

Except in Belgium. That place is a hidden GEM.

i would totally choose to tour around new places learning things. i can sleep at home.
although, really, you can have it both ways. last year my family and i went to bali, indonesia, where we stayed in a luxurious resort. during the day we went out and learned about endangered wildlife, and during the afternoons and evenings we lazed around the resort.

@sozpa@xanga - Responding to a previous post, the Dominican Republic isn't so great, I just came back from a vacation there last week-- pretty much outside of your resort there's nothing to do. The country is not very wealthy and a bit depressing to see in comparison to the resorts that the tourists stay in. I'd rather vacation in Florida.

It depends to the person, some loves to party the other want to relax in the beach drinking fruit shakes.  Some want to have adventure, pump their adrenaline.  I suggest Ibiza beach if you love to party a lot definitely the best.

Anywhere with good surf and warm water.  Wild Coast and Sunshine Coast South Africa the best

i like to go and see things and be a tourist but in the summer, i rather just relax on the beach or the lake, where it's relaxing and i don't have to do much walking and sight seeing.  i'm probably just going to rent a beach house either in venice beach or pebble beach and just relax for vacation.
