Check Out This Runway!
I came across these photos on Airliners.net. The people on these beaches must have been pretty confident that the pilots would have perfect landing skills! Must have been a pretty awesome view, too.

it's a fake. at least the first one.
Is it me or is there a massive pile up going on in the bottom right hand corner of the 1st picture? I think that would happen a lot IF planes were actually flying just inches above the cars. Hopefully no 18 wheelers drive on there during a landing, that would be a disaster. Not to mention how much air is actually being forced from the back of the engines!
Seems fake to me, but you never know i guess.

and I think that it's more than "inches" above the cars. probably about 20 feet at least.
