not really, unless they're genuine and not something from the hotel gift shop
yeah ^__^ because my friends usually hand pick them for me accordingly :)
wholeheartedly believe in black_lie's comment... succinct and to-the-point... a trait still working on...
i like to regard souvenirs as objects about physicality and momentality. i like to receive souvenir rocks. strange is when i ask my friends and family members to pick up a small rock, dirt, sand, the ground(s) to wherever they go and wherever they've been... but to me, rather than cheesy keychains, ceramic/glass-wares, or simply photos... there's something more innate, pure and sentimental as the ground that constitutes a place. so many have tread before and opportunity from someone i know to re-tread. perhaps sentimentality is associated with physicality - as much as momentality and ephemerality is associated with spirituality. or as architecturally-inclined, the physical material and something that has been shaped by and that has been there for a long time without frequent regard or careful notice under all those who've tread... that to me is a souvenir. keepsakes like a used handkerchief passed down, a sweater once worn, or itinerary objects like used tickets or maps also suffice.
happy mother's day to those in the u.s.
Hmmm... not really. Unless it's something nice. I don't really like the postcard/keychain/memento sort of stuff. What's the point of giving someone else a memento of a place they've never been?
Yes! :)
I loooove bracelets! Every country has a different way of incorporating their culture into them, so my friends/family always bring that back for me :)
well, I remember when I went to cali, I brought my friend back a candy Id never seen anywhere before, he still thanks me for it til this day... but I dont like things that can be just bought to remind me that they have been somewhere that I havent. lol I do like that if they do buy me something, its something that they would feel I would genuinely like. =)
Depends on what it is, I collect shot glassed so most people buy me those, but if it is just something cheesy then don't bother. If you find something unique and that is me than sure, otherwise just skip it please
Hm... not at all. I prefer postcards :D
no. it's not that i'm not grateful, it's just that i don't want souvenirs from places i've never been. i'd rather buy mementos from places i've visited.
depends but mostly stuff that is different or one of a kind or if I hve a collection started and I dont have the peace already.
I not really like local souvenirs, except tat really very special...
I like local present more xD
I love getting postcards, and nobody seems to want to send those ever.
As far as other stuff goes, I like them if it's something that I'd want anyway.
If I know someone likes collecting something specific, then I'll pick up a souvenir or two. I love getting those collectible spoons for my personal collection, which was started for me by my parents.
