Visiting Malaysia and Singapore - Need Suggestions!
I'm spending a couple of weeks in Malaysia and Singapore this summer. I know that I want to go snorkeling and spend some time trekking through Taman Negara National Park, but other than that, I'm not sure what I want to do.
For those of you who have been to this part of the world, do you have any must-see places to recommend or tips for traveling here? Would you suggest spending a few days in Indonesia or another nearby country if you had the time?

don't chew gum in singapore
Singapore is all about shopping, don't think you should spend more than 2 days there if shopping is not your priority. 2 days in Kuala Lumpur will be sufficient to see all that you need to see and to try delicious food you don't get anywhere else. Malacca, a city 2 hours from KL is very worth paying a visit too as it is one of UNESCO world heritage site. PM me if you need more info :)
Oh and if you really want to maximise your trip, take the low cost flights (airasia) from Kuala Lumpur to either Bangkok and Bali.
chempadak
try for the beaches in malaysia.
redang is realllly gorgoeus.
penang has amazingg cuisine.
not kidding.
singapore
east coast park, esplande and the merlion park next to it, little india, chinatown, sentosa(bring swimming suit), pulau ubin
from what i heard chewing gum in singapore should be fine (if you are caught, don't blame me
)
malaysia
kuala lumpur, pulau bintan(not sure if i am spelling it correctly), penang, malacca
in malaysia;
check out pulau redang or pulau tioman.. great place to snorkel.
Pulau Gandah is something like a petting zoo(i don't know if you're into that sorta stuff)xD. u get to play with the animals, the elephants especially, you get to ride 'em, the place is somewhere in the state of selangor where kl is located at.
you could get super cheap stuff at petaling street but be careful, since you're a foreigner, you might get hoaxed. oh, the salesperson there are kinda rude too so be prepared.. Be sure to know what the exchange rate is.
there's a lot of place you could visit.
here, check this out.

=D
Both countries are amazing, but since you're asking, if you can afford a trip to Bali you won't regret it.
Head to Redang island in Malaysia. It's a cheaper alternative to gorgeous waters one sees in Maldives. Bali water is kinda murky compared to Redang in Malaysia.
You can PM me for more information. I live in Singapore.
Yeah I recommend you visiting Indonesia while you are in Singapore / Malaysia..you can either go to Jakarta (capital city) or Bali (one of the touristy island) or even Lombok (another touristy island)
Nightlife like zouk or st james power station?
>3<
In Kuala Lumpur, there is an amazing aquarium called AQUARIA, right where the KLCC is (Kuale Lumpur City Centre)
When I went there, I also visited an elephant orphanage, where you could bathe with/ feed them if you like :P
If you want, you should also try out a Butik place nearby, its really cool.
Singapore.... Only been there once, and the shopping was great!
If you want to go somewhere in Indonesia, i highly recommend Bali. The beaches aren't that great, but the temples are amazing (despite the hagglers) however you won't be allowed in if you are a girl on her period (just one of those things.) Also the diving there is amazing! (Beware the jellyfish)
In KL, visit Sunway Lagoon and the Petronas Towers.
Be extra careful in Penang and Johor.. there are a lot of people who are looking to steal your purse. Don't carry a big one because there's the chance that a motorcyclist will ride past and grab it.. dragging you along if you don't let go.
Singapore.. theres not much there really. Mostly shopping and oh.. don't get caught chewing gum. haha
And when you buy stuff in those open market bazaar places, you can haggle if you think the price is too high. The sellers usually give in.
have fun!
Thanks everyone!
