I would direct them the hell out of this piss-ant town.
I live in NY so there's plenty of places to visit like Time Square or Central Park.
I grew up in a town in NJ that was on the path that George Washington and his troops took during the Revolutionary War. Rumor is that they ate lunch under a giant oak tree that's still standing in my town. That's all we got...
Probably my city's state park. Well, that's if the county fair ain't going on. Those are the 2 things my city takes the most pride in. And rightly so.
@wherethefishlives@xanga - piss-ant? ahah curiously we say spit-ant here..
hmmm well..once an ancient roman guy died here and during some construction works they discover it...and they exposed at the municipal house..making us a village of proud necrophilers...
I think we need more "KEEP OUT" signals around our town..in case you're asking where I would direct them...
I suppose I would direct them to either Baltimore, Annapolis, or DC since they're all within easy driving distance from me.
I like to be sure that tourists get to see Shelby Farms Park it's over 4,500 acres which is about 5 times the size of New Yorks Central park and it's right in the middle of one of our busiest areas. The american Bison range, horseback riding, walking and riding trails, frisbee golf, paddleboats, fishing, and over 20 lakes of all sizes are a big hit with my friends who visit from abroad. Of course I have to take the tourists to Graceland, and the steamboats on the river too. The National Civil Rights museum and slavehaven are popular stops as well. Oh and Beale Street is a lot of fun....I can go on and on there are just so many things I love about Memphis and the area around it.
NATIONAL AVIARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All the theme parks in Orlando is a must.
As shitty as this podunk little town is, it is quite a big tourist destination.
For one, we are smack dab in the middle of quite a few national parks like the Grand Canyon, Zions Park, and Bryce Canyon. Then, we've shot tons of western movies around the area, including The Outlaw Josey Wales, and there are still movie sets up around.Lastly, we have the biggest non-kill animal sanctuary in the world (i believe) just outside of town.So yeah...I live in London so there are much TOO many places to go to.I would suggest Covent Garden and Leicester square which are two of my favorite places.Covent Garden is known for its street performances(Clowns, magicians, singers), quirky street fashion, shopping, restaurants, pubs and nightlife.Leicester square will appeal to theatrics because its where we have the Royal Opera,Royal Ballet,Musical Halls, the biggest cinemas where film premieres are held and the headquarters of the more popular radio stations.
I live in good old stockton
Number 5 most dangerous city
and Number 1 most miserable in the US
hmm Asparagus festival would be a good time to come
or you could check out the waterfront
haha my city is crap
I live near Palos Verdes - it's this posh little place that really loses the streetlamps and the city-life feel as you head deeper into the residential areas. There are a lot of nice, winding roads and the loveliest beach. It's just all very soothing and the perfect place to go to for long drives.
There's not much to speak of in Clemmons (other than restaurants), but for visitors to nearby Winston-Salem, I would recommend the Botanical Gardens and Reynolda Village. Reynolda Village is a little area of cute, private shops that are on land owned by the RJ Reynolds family (the cigarette magnate). As for the Botanical Gardens at Wake Forest University, they are filled with a huge collection of gorgeous, bright flowers and unusual plants around the world. There are also benches, fountains, and several pretty observatory buildings, as well as an art museum. The best part is, it's all free!
Another interesting place is Old Salem--where you can visit the original 'downtown' structures from the 1700's and see real people give historical recreations of what life was like back then.
Haha I'm in Toronto...but aside from the usual things like the CN Tower, I think I'd recommend a 'haunted history tour' just for something a bit different and at least worth a few laughs.
i live in chicago so i would direct them to millenium park to see the bean and then grant park and then buckingham fountain. also magnificent mile (michigan ave) and shopping around there. the sears tower and john hancock building. ummm the lake is really nice in the summer. food = gotta have deep dish giordannos.
that's so touristy though..
ride the el too. haha
OH GO TO A CUBS GAME!!! not sox though.
Well, I think the beaches in Miami are pretty much THE big thing; other than that, I'll probably direct them to Viscaya, this old mansion near the beach that's pretty cool to see.
VANCOUVER - QE PARK :)
