Iberian Road Trip to Spain and Portugal! Need Tips and Suggestions!
My friend and I are going to drive through Spain and Portugal in late July to early August, just shy of two weeks of driving.
We wanted to do the southern coast but were told that it's incredibly hot (104 degrees in Granada, for example). Our route is open and we want to find places to hike, hit cultural activities and see places that are off the beaten path. We will land in Madrid and we fly to the Azores from Lisbon, so the way between Madrid and Lisbon is completely open.
Have you ever done such a road trip or even driven through either of those countries and can share what places I shouldn't miss? Thanks!

Porto in the North, Lisbon (Cascais, Sintra) in the center, Lagos (party town) and Portimao/Faro in the South...
I've done road trips in the states but nothing as exciting or long as you're planning!
I'm considering doing a similar trip next summer, however i think i will only have about 3 weeks for the drive. Are there any particular places you would recommend that i visit along the way. I was considering driving down through Toledo, Valdepenas, Cordoba, Seville & then a few days in the Algarve. I'd really appreciate any input you could offer. Thanks in advance
