Only one time - I forgot to put my brand new, expensive, facial scrub bottle into my checked luggage.
The security guard who took it away from me didn't trash it. Instead, she kept it. (I saw it put it away in her side bag/pouch!)
Once at the San Antonio airport. Since the ticket we bought had been bought that morning, apparently they flagged it and we had to be checked.
Whenever I fly alone, I always get "randomly" selected to be screened by security.
A couple of times.
One time for a metal compact in my carry-on, and another time for my PSP.
yep, i got randomly selected a couple of times.
yeah, one time that stands out was at Brisbane Airport, I was coming back from Bangkok and our plane had a 3am stopover for a few hours in Brisbane on the way back to New Zealand. Worst experience ever, never mind the search- everyone had to go through security again even though we went through it thoroughly at Bangkok..so any "weapons"we had on us would have been off the plane. We stood in line for a couple of hours, everyone was jetlagged and people were throwing up due to over exhaustion. The process of going through security alone took about 3 hours from 3am-6am after a long flight from Bangkok..
Anddd because I am young, single etc & obviously look like a drug addict they tested my bag for drugs and everything (which had already been done in Bangkok ANYWAY), and were extremely rude.
I regularly fly to Asia but now travel Singapore Airlines, NEVER Qantas or Thai Airways (they stop off in Australia on the way to Asia) after that nightmare.
oh and I was also called back to security once in Vietnam to get my bag searched because I had bullets in my bag from the Cu Chi tunnels, apparently flying through singapore it would show up as a grenade or something on their x-ray machines lol..so I had to leave them behind :P
well, on my way out of the dominican republic, i had a giant 1.5 liter coke bottle and the guy stopped me to make sure i wasn't sneaking it out of the country O.o haha god forbid
A few times. I've had to step to the side and I've had my bag searched.
Yup! In Indonesia, I was 12 and they wanted to search my pencil case...full of crayola markers. And they made me take out each one and then they kinda looked at it, and then put them back after.... =)
And once when my brothers and I was traveling with my mom =) They thought she kidnapped us and asked us all kinds of questions about my dad =)
I got stopped once, after accidentally taking a snowglobe I bought from the San Diego Zoo in my carry-on. Luckily I worked my magic and the security person let me have it
Nahh.
Since I got with my parents, we had our bag search one or twice again (after going through the x-ray machines)
As for bleeping I have only had it once so far, my parents a few times.
pretty much every time I fly I probably have something in my shoes with metal:P or i forgot to take off my watch
HAHAHAHA I had to comment when I saw this... I had been in a knee brace w. metal sides for 6wks. The morning after prom me and the travel club from my high school were going to Spain. Not only was I soooo used to putting it on and not realizing it, but I was exhausted from the night before that when I walked through it beeped and they made me walk through again, then they pulled me over and used the wand. As they ran it over my knee I had the sudden realization that it was my knee brace. I tried explaining to them that it was a brace. Since they couldn't see the whole thing and examine it, I was strip searched!!! That was everyone's amusement for the entire week we were in Spain. Needless to say I wore it on the outside for the remainder of my trip... go ahead and laugh everyone!
well I've had the metal detector go off on me like.. five billion times but I have only been stoped once.
I was 17, I had just been to York in England (a truely wonderful historical city!) and I was on my way back to Sweden at London airport when I was stopped. My entire compeny had made it just fine but I had apparently a suspicus bad. I had bought a purse in a gothic shop while in York and apparently it was very scary looking indeed. Scary enough for them tp patt me down, pour out all my personal belongings on a table, turn the bag this way and that way and then finally thake a sticky paper and rubb it against the inside of my bag! I don't know what they were looking for (I assumed drugs) but after closly exsamining the sticky paper they said I could have my things back and go... oO it was super odd...
anyway my dad who was with me mostly thought it was funny as he knows I am the last person on earth to ever do drugs. lol I don't even drink.
Every time I travel with my father, especially on our way back from anywhere. He decides that he's not going to shave and wear his last bit of clothing he packed. We always get pulled to the side to do the full body scan. . . On my own, not so much, no.
Yes. I was wearing tripp pants (baggy, parachute, "commercialized, poser mall goth" pants distributed by Hot Topic that I've always loved for some reason) on a servanthood church to New York- with my church youth group. I was foolish enough to think that removing both the velcro and sewen in chains would remove all the metal. >.>
They wanded me. Gave me a pat down. My female pastor had to stay behind with me. Since the wands are more sensitive than the detectors- the second time they got yet another reading from my underwire bra. Not fun, to say the least. I wore pajama pants on the trip home.
Yea, they stopped and searched my hubby and I in seattle because he was wearing combat boots and dog tags. So they pulled us to the side and individually searched us.
Not in the airport, but I've been stopped walking through security checks in the city.
mainly because I used to have my hips pierced, and when they saw it on the thing they were like wtf is that.
No, but I wish!
Every leg of the flight...just about every time! Back near 9-11, I was flying on a one-way ticket and back on another airline on a one-way ticket to get the best price. Ha. Ha. That one-way ticket thing triggered every agent there was. I had several transfers on plans and at every check point in the airport (at least 3) I was searched separately,... and at every plane transfer there was another 3 searches. It is to the point I just laugh. And now...after some looser restrictions, the wand beeps for some reason when they 'wand' me so I have to step aside to be rewanded. It is just what I expect and because it always happens, I know this is normal for me every time I fly.
