My Adventures in Perth
I am back here in Jakarta (major bummer) and I had a blast in Perth. Here is the rundown of how my trip went:
Perth is the capital city of Western Australia. I have officially called Perth my home. It is a quiet city and it's so peaceful, complete opposite to Jakarta and I love that. People say that Perth is boring but I have to disagree, I think Perth is just perfect the way it is. I am tired of living in a place where there are way too many people and too much traffic.
*Camping*
I have never been an outdoor type of person but since I have never been camping before and I am also the type of person who loves to try out new things, I was willing to give it a shot especially when it's camping with the future in laws and Jason.
After experiencing two days of camping, I must say that I am now a big fan of it. I tried everything that there is to try when you are out camping:
1. Sleep in a tent = check
2. Use the bathroom and taking a shower (camping style) = check
3. Fishing = check, I managed to caught 13 Western Australian Herrings
4. Catch squid = check, but was unsuccessful
5. Eat fresh seafood = check
6. Swim in the ocean where the water is clean and blue = check
7. Eat excellent camping foods = check
8. Netting = check, but again was unsuccessful
I had the best time ever and I can't wait to go out camping again.
*Perth*
*Kings Park*
One of Australia's most beautiful parks. Laid out in 1872 and finely situated on a hill above the broad river and the city, it has an area of 404 ha, consisting partly of natural bush country, with a brilliant display of wild flowers in spring, and partly of a botanic garden containing more than 1200 species of Western Australian plants. There are particularly fine views of the city from the War Memorial and the Pioneer Women's Memorial.
Went there with Jason on Sunday where we just sat down and enjoyed the view of Perth from there. The whole park is just incredible, I really wish Jakarta has a park like this but even if they do I am pretty sure the people of Jakarta would make a mess out of it.
*Fremantle*
On my last day in Perth, Jason took me to Fremantle where we stayed the night there and I had so much fun in Freo.
Fremantle is a port city in Western Australia where the Western Australian like to call it "Freo". The city is popular with diners, catering for all tastes and budgets. Italian and Asian cuisine is abundant as well as a vast variety of seafood restaurants. There are numerous cafes and coffee shops situated around Fremantle, particularly on its famous 'Cappuccino Strip'.
The city has an operational fishing boat harbour which contain markets and restaurants, developed as a tourist precinct. Fishing charter boats also operate from this harbour.Fremantle is a popular place for its nightlife where it attracts people from all over the metropolitan region for its pubs, bars and nightclubs. The city also has large arts community, with a number of small art galleries and musical venues .
*Beers*
Besides eating all the "must have foods to eat while you are in Australia", I also had my own beer tasting experience. With Jason as my guide, I have tried so many pure Australian beers and I have to say that beers in Indonesia has nothing againsts the beers I drank in Oz. Here is the list of my favorite Oz beers so far:
Top row = L to R: 1) Matsos Man-Go Bier, 2) Cascade Green,
Bottom row = L to R: 3) Carlton Draught, 4) Boag's Draught
Overall I had a blast in Perth and I am planning in coming down there again in 22 days and this time I will stay for 10 days. I really can't wait now!! I miss my home..and Jason too

Have you been to Australia? If not, which cities would you like to visit?

I've never been to Australia, but I've always wanted to visit. Now I know exactly where I want to go first! Thanks =]

I love camping. I'd like to visit Australia and New Zealand in future. I've heard that there are many cool things to do there.

I am an American currently living in Australia, and I can't wait to explore
other parts of this really big/cool place. Im sorta stuck in the middle of no where, so I haven't seen much
yet!!! Perth sounds cool, I also want to trip around Queensland, (all of it) and go to Cairns.
@JenellApril@xanga - I grew up in Cairns..but I haven't been there in 16 years but as far as I can remember it is a very beautiful city.
My 2nd home.
Ah Perth.
Love the Freo markets- did you go? Awesome stuff.
I miss Scarborough Beach so terribly now, & the smell of the ocean & sunscreen, and those arvos when my friends & I had nothing to do and we'd end up shopping in the city.
Time to make it back there.
Oh plus Perth has HEAPS of hot boys. :P Who especially come out to surf during the summer.
