I was alone for the beginning of my trip. Flew from Malaysia all the way to Spain alone! And I was the only Malaysian in my entire school. Talk about scary... but it was so fun.
I sorta did when I went to NY, although I did eventually meet up with some folks. I'm planning to do the same thing soon when I go to San Diego. It's nice to just get away once in a while.
I've been to Iceland for a whole week alone around and did the same while visiting Helsinki/Copenhagen.. I like it..I found it useful...
I travelled to Los Angeles alone but I met up with people I knew. I like it. The freedom to explore and see things on your own not to mention the people you meet on the way. All very interesting.
I went to Minnesota alone once and had a good time by myself.
Was supposed to meet up with friends in Vegas. Booked my own room and because of communication issues, spent 3 days of the 4-day trip alone. Had more fun, anyway.
Just came back from Romania last week. That was the first time I've traveled alone. I booked myself in hostel in order to meet people, but I ended up with the room to myself (and there were 8 beds!). It got lonely after a couple of days. Went off to another hostel in another city and met up with bunch of travelers. That was blast:)
No, but I want to sometimes (like on a guided tour), but other times think it's better to be with people you love so they can share in that with you.Â
NO.i think i will loss.i'm so worry about that.
i went to Vietnam alone. it was my first time travelling alone for work. i also extended the trip to fit in a bit of r&r. i survived and was so damn proud of myself!
i went to spain by myself for about 10 days. it was a good experience, but it did get lonely towards the end.
Yah, I've done it once for a business trip. It was tons of fun. I went to Boston the weekend before the conference to explore. The transit system, the MBTA, was very easy and convenient even for a visitor. It was a beautiful historical city. Traveling alone was a bit scary at first, but I never felt afraid walking around in the city. I wouldn't mind living there...
yes, i love it. it's exhilarating and freeing to go off to foreign lands exploring by yourself. i did this all around china and have traveled elsewhere in the US by myself on occasion, too.
don't get me wrong--going with friends is always fun, but alone works as well. :)
I went to San Antonio and New York by myself. Great trips, both of them.
I've been to Vietnam for a whole week alone
is a nice trip
I'm not sure I could travel alone unless I had family or friends living where I was traveling to.
If it's just regional (like to another state or something), then go for it, have a blast! I went to San Francisco by myself and stayed at my friend's for a day or two. It was great~
Now I am planning to go alone to the Philippines this summer for a month. Never been there before, and don't speak the language. But I'm participating in a program where I'd be living with a host family, hang out with other students/volunteers like me, and have program employees at their office there help me with anything I need during my stay.
It's no fun when you got no one to share your excitement with you though.
Besides, if you go at it alone (I mean seriously by yourself all the way through the trip, not just flying alone) it'd be too dangerous because if anything happens, there's no one to fall back on. Especially if nobody there speaks your language!
What if you lose your passport or get really sick? What if you get stranded at the airport from delays? Then it's no fun anymore.
I say always be prepared and have a pal.
yup i have! i went to Washington, DC alone about a week and a half ago.
yup! i went Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan alone when I was 20 years old. It was sooo fun!
I travel alone all the time, and I'm still a teenager. It's fun
I have traveled alone alot. I was in SE Asia almost 3 weeks, 5 weeks in Europe backpacking and traveling all over the US. But I do end up meeting and making friends etc.
i was newly eighteen when i traveled ALONE to Incheon. I was very much nervous but i made it.
ahhhh. i stopped by japan for a night on my way to phillippines. crazy trip! ill never forget it. The minute I stepped out of the airport was the scariest feeling. My family was on the other side of the airport so i had to figure out how to call them with those payphone booths. i had to find a place to exchange u.s dollars for japanese coins so i can make the phone call. I had to find a way to get to them so I took the shuttle but i was soooo confused and i dont speak the language.
The next day, I was late to board my plane cuz my uncle had to work and he came home late. When i checked in, this japanese flight attendant took me in and we run across the airport to get to my gate. it was hilarious and scarry at the same time. All I could say to her was "harigato gozaimas" bowing my head and running at the same time
