Help! My First Time Traveling Abroad....So Many Questions?
I'm going to Hong Kong July 2. I just applied for my passport on April 2.
I am seriously having trouble with what kind of visa I should get. It would make life easier if I had a work visa or a double visa or a tourist visa.
The people I'm staying with mentioned that they were going to the Phillipines some time during my trip so I truly don't know what to look into.
I don't have a college degree so I don't see anything that I can do except to work with children. I'm also a Microsoft Office Specialist.
Do you think I am worrying over nothing or should I just keep looking into things and asking? Do you have any advice for me?

how long are you going and what do you want to do over there?
If you plan to be over there and work any sort of job for pay, you need a work visa, but they require you to be pretty specific about it, I think.
It all depends on what you are actually doing over there. Like the previous poster said, if you plan on working and getting paid at all over there, you will need a work visa. Otherwise, tourist should be sufficient.
I am going on something like a mission trip. I found a great one that teaches Chinese people how to speak english but it only last a couple of days. I believe that it is a volunteer thing. I would love to have a regular job so that I can eat well.
@Angelsdelight@xanga - If you're not entirely sure if you'll be working for $ at all, I would talk to some sort of travel or state agency that can give you official information and advice on what to do :) You won't want to make a mistake on that Visa stuff. Good luck!
Depends what your going for I would think. A work visa would give you a longer time, but it's more specific/difficult to acquire then a normal tourist visa.
You don't need a Visa to enter Hong Kong but you would need a working Visa if you're planning to work there. I'm not quite sure if you'll need a Visa for the Phillipines. It's best to ask an travel agent for that infomation.

I heard it was harder for foreigners to get a job in HK than in Japan,S.Korea and Taiwan. And that's with a degree.
