Palm Beach is great, as well as Miami.
I didn't like it when I went to Tampa.

    St. Augustine is gorgeous.

I absolutely loved Key West and Cape Canaveral when I went a few years ago (on a cruise).  Key West is gorgeous and they have fantastic bars, restaurants, ice cream places, etc. there.  I toured Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, and it was fascinating (of course, I'm also an astronomy/physics major so it could just be me).

Orlando...that's where I am from! If you do go to Orlando, do the theme park stuff, Miami is really pretty, but it's expensive down there.

I'm fond of Fort Lauderdale (for straight up chilling on the beach-thats what I did for spring break this year), Saint Augustine (my favorite beach plus a really historic downtown with spanish forts and other fun things to visit), palm beach and miami (both of which are flashier and more expensive, but good beaches nonetheless, and good shopping). I don't like the gulf coast beaches nearly as much, and definitly not the panhandle. Clearwater's not too bad (probably my favorite gulf coast beach), but I'd definitly choose an east coast city, personally.

Clearwater is near St. Pete's Beach & the Salvador Dali Museum, both of which are a lot of fun.  In January I drove from that area of Florida to Key West -- it was a long road trip (400 miles) but it was a nice drive and I enjoyed Key West immensely.

Well I think you should go to either Pensacola Beach or Destin..the beaches are incredible and there's plenty of resorts around there.

I honeymooned in the Tampa/Clearwater area. More specifically, Indian Rocks Beach near St. Pete. I would definitely recommend checking out John's Pass. It's a little town with boardwalks, shops, and restaurants right up against the shore. The hubby and I ate at a phenomenal seafood restaurant there and enjoyed fresh fish that had just been caught that very day! I loved the Gulf Coast and personally prefer it over the Atlantic Coast.

@IrishCream41@xanga - I second that, Indian Rocks Beach and John's Pass.  There are a couple seafood places there that I like--Sculley's and PJ's (best clam chowder, imo).

Busch Gardens in Tampa beats Disney World if you like rollercoasters (and shorter lines!).
