Video: Japanese Robot Unveiled. Is Governor Arnold Next?
Meet the HRP-4C, the latest Japanese humanoid robot. Scientists from Japan's National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology have said that she is being designed for the entertainment industry, such as amusement parks or even as an exercise teacher. HRP-4C is 5'2" tall, has 30 body motors for walking and moving her arms, 8 facial motors for blinking and expressing emotions, and enjoys long walks on the beach. Okay, maybe not that last one.
Here's a video of her in action:
It's not surprising that Japan has demonstrated such advanced technology. Japan is after all one of the leading nations in the fields of scientific research and the world leader in robotics production and use. This is one of the reasons, on top of their long history and tradition, that Japan is one of the places I would love to travel to one day. It would be neat to see what cool gizmos and gadgets they have over there.
Sadly, despite being a world leader, Austria will eventually become the world leader in robotics. Isn't that what's supposed to happen in the future? How else do you explain future robots looking like this?
Do you own any Japanese technology? Would you be interested in visiting Japan?

Why call her a "fashion model"? Why not "doom machine"? Sexism, that's what it is!
wow, i watched the video and her movements are pretty lifelike!
thats cool except she is taller than I am
woahhhhh ,,, it even blinks
Her look....isn't it from the one in a Korean movie about a robot girlfriend?! > _ >
Wow it seems as technology evolves, so does the porn industry.
Oh man I'm sick.
that's cool, but scary.
That thing scares me more than a molding, deteriorating Chucky doll.
I'm sorry, as much as I love action, I will absolutely not give up the possibility of I-Robot actually happening. Noooo thank you!
That scared me... but yes i am interested in visiting Japan... and as for technology i think quite a few things i own are Japanese brands.
