  • Vietnam Minivans and Their Passengers

Have you ever seen a minivan in Vietnam? Well, the above photo pretty much sums it up. Minivans aren't needed in Vietnam if people can pile onto a bike. It's cheaper and uses less gas, I suppose. I've seen more people piled on a bike than this. These families have a way of placing each family member on their one scooter, it's pretty amazing how they do it.

Check out that cute little baby just hanging out on his mom's lap taking in his surroundings. The kid in front looks almost bored as if it's an everyday thing to get to ride on his dad's bike. I remember when my friend offered me a ride to the beach on his motorcycle, I was giggling and laughing the whole way, wind in my hair, having a blast!

You have to hand it to the dad. Driving around in Vietnam isn't an easy feat, from what I've seen. The lines on the street are more for decoration and street lights? What street lights? I wonder if there's a school for teaching people how to dodge cars and pedestrians on the busy streets of Saigon.

Have you seen any interesting forms of transportation in other countries?

I've been to so many amazing places, but if I absolutely had to pick, I'd settle on a couple places to shorten the list. Madrid, Spain because that's where I did my study abroad program when I was 18 and it was there that the travel bug bit me so hard it left a scar. I haven't been the same since. And Vietnam. That's where my family is from. Although, I'm Vietnamese American, I never actually visited Vietnam until I was 26. It was an awesome experience to learn about my family's history and I was quite pleased to show off my vietnamese language skills to the locals. It's quite a big deal for an american-born.
