Innocent Weapon Smugglers? Seriously?
Seriously, what are some people thinking?!Have you ever taken a careful look at those confiscation bins at the airports? You know, the one displaying all the items that were taken from would be travelers. If not, you should. There are some crazy items that people think they can bring on a plane.
Take a look at the picture above. Scissors? Knives? Seriously? Those aren't the strangest things I've seen people try to bring on board (knowing the strict policies) on my travels. I've seen a machete and believe it or not, a bow and arrow!!
I've asked one of the airport staff members if these items were actually taken from passengers and they confirmed that they were.
What strange items have you seen in the confiscation bin? Have you ever had something taken from you at the airport?

Omg, I have seen some crazy stuff in there!
They took my hair lotion that was .5 over the limit of how many ounces of fluid in a bottle I could have.
I've never been in an airport, so I can't say much in that area. I think it's insane that all of these people realize they aren't supposed to have scissors, knives, machetes,...bows and arrows, yet they still bring them along.
Damn, that what happened to my scissors.
i have gone to the airport once
but
i did not notice the confiscation bin
They took my bottle of water AFTER I had gone through the metal detectors and was already seated at the terminal, awaiting entry to the gate. Apparently security was so strict, they even checked bags again INSIDE the gate before we all boarded the plane. Wish they had done this sooner on 9/11.
i heard rounded-tip scissors under a certain length are now allowed?
that's not so weird... scissors and knives are useful, and machetes and bows and arrows might be some souvenirs they picked up from their travels that they didn't want to send through baggage.
my favorite Swiss pocket knife :( . They said go home or put it in the bin. so sad, hehe.
have seen a whole bottle of soya sauce...as if the catering on the flight isn't salty enough lol
No./No.
I saw a power drill once - WTF!!!!?
And I've had my tweezers and face wash taken from me. I forgot about the face wash since it was thrown in at the last minute (and unopened too sniff sniff). The tweezers... some countries are more lenient than others when it comes to that.
@anne - I feel you! My new bottle of face wash was 3.5 oz. And it cost me a pretty penny too!
