Hopefully in a few years, after uni i hope to teach english in either China(or Hong kong) and Japan
5, 6 and 7 for me!
Japan and South Korea
I'd love to teach in any of them.
yeah! all of these places sound awesome!
I'm up for anything!
Indonesia is actually a good place to look. They are in great need of native English speakers (preferably with a degree in something or other)
I want to teach English overseas. That's my goal. I'm going to hit up Korea, Japan, Thailand, Brazil, and Italy. wow...I should have started in my early 20s.
japan.
I think Japan if I was up to snuff. (Not literally)
been there, done that
Wow I thought Japan would be #1 or 2 on the list since everyone is beginning to have a random increased interest in Japanese language, music and art. =/
As for me Japan is #1, China #2, and S. Korea #3. Of course I intend to apply to JET but since everyone and their mom is applying to JET now I might have to find another program to teach over there. -_-x
South korea. & Italy.
they all sound like fun places! i would prefer the asian destinations though
Just Italia, nowhere else on that list.
@amygwen@xanga - how cool! which country did you teach in?
I've taught English in China and Japan (just finishing my time in Japan). I'd like to teach in Nepal...but I'm up for anywhere. I love teaching English and meeting different kinds of people.
I was going to teach in Japan with Nova Group (now bankrupt...
) after I finished school, but I chickened out. But several of my friends have taught overseas (mostly in South Korea, and one in Spain) and they've all loved it. Hopefully I'll gather some courage and go before I'm 30!
Yes, yes, and YES!! I would love to teach in Vietnam since that's where my family is from and I can brush up on my Vietnamese.
I've taught abroad in China before, but I wouldn't mind teaching in Japan either. :)
I want to teach bad English. Get some slang in there yo.
I'd love to teach in all of them.
Anyone who did this already or in the process? Can you tell me a bit of how you got into it? 'Cause I am trying to plan out my path of teaching abroad and I want to hear your experiences. Thanks
It isn't worth it to teach abroad anymore as a newbie since the value of the money fell. Unless you like making the same amount you could have made at McDonald's.
It's also a common practice in countries like Taiwan and the Republic of Korea to not pay on time, or to pay less than what is stated in the contract. Lately schools have started saving money by firing their foreign teachers a month before the contract ends so they don't have to pay severance or reimburse for plane tickets.
Italy or Japan.
My sister is teaching abroad in Peru and she loves it.
im currently teaching english in korea and i love it. dont plan on coming back anytime soon. taiwan is also a good place to teach, lots of white people go there to teach. its a good experience, definitely broadens your horizon.
