I find it funny that I've never been to Times Square before, yet in the past 3 days I've been twice.
The first time wasn't planned, if anything it was a side thought. We had originally hopped a train to partake in a full moon party within the city. Sadly for me and my
longing for a night out, the party was canceled. Well, not really canceled, but my brother read the directions wrong which left us wandering around New York City in the cold.
Since we just spent 2 hours getting INTO the city, we figured we'd better do something. Times Square was that something.

Neat place for pictures, as if you couldn't tell by the hundreds of tourists/people there with cameras. I had to giggle when the cameras shifted from the buildings to my head.

Saturday, my cousin arrived on the east coast from California. Her class was taking a history based field trip with stops in Washington DC, Virgina, Pennsylvania (but not Philadelphia strangely), and NY.
Once again I found myself on the train, mother and sister along side.
We met up at Tiffany's. What Tiffany's has to do with the creation of America, I have no idea.
But yes, inside the 6 floor jewelry store, my cousin almost tackled me with excitement. It was kind of nice to see her, considering she is the only cousin I have a tolerance for.
We strolled through the place, looking at overpriced shiny trinkets while the sales people politiely told me to buy. In an extremely expensive place like that, I usually turn my nose up and play the part of a
rich asshole before bursting into laughter. With a wave of my hand and a twist of my face, I told my cousin "Hrrmm, just pick something and I'll buy it for you." Apparently loud enough to be hounded by employees until we left!

We followed her group around to numerous churches and places of interest. I was actually enjoying myself, seeing parts of the city I had never visited before.

The Rockefeller building is huge, though the ice skating area is much smaller then I had previously imagined. I broke from my cousins group to stand at the railing and watch the people for a second. All the memories of happy couples holding hands, skating together flickered in my mind while I stood above, watching below. I'll do it. One day...

The day wore on. We walked, we stopped, we took pictures, we got some food. My cousin's classmates were asking her "is your cousin famous? Why are all these people taking pictures with him?" Hah!
At 7:30 her class was getting ready to see a broadway show, which marked the end of our tour together. Outside of the theater we said our goodbyes.

Thumbs up New York. Thumbs Up.
Is there a city near your town that is fairly close enough for you to visit often? Which one?

Great photos!
Hilarious what you did at Tiffany's. I ought to try that inside the Louis Vuitton store.
I live in New York right now, but when I lived in Southern California, I visited San Francisco quite a bit. It was a 5-6 hour drive, though. Still easy to get to. =)
New York, LOL.
I live 10 minutes away - I live on the other side of the Hudson River. I go there quite often, not much fun anymore, though.
Time Square is an amazing place. I've been there so many times since I've moved here and I never get tired of seeing it.
New York, but I love it there so I'll never tire of visiting.

NY is racist towards asians. asians=terrorists to NYers. WTF???.
New York is the most diverse place in the world, so no, it's definitely not racist, just overrated.
