365 Days Ago Today, I Stepped Off My Plane From S. Korea and Into Philadelphia
Today, last year, was the day I stepped off of my plane from South Korea and into Philadelphia. The day I walked back into the life I already knew.
Been a year since I read the words of the giant golden Buddha...
Since I trekked the Abel Tasman National Park..
Island hopped by boat..
Sped through traffic in a makeshift taxi..
A year since my nostrils burned from the smell of open sulfur pools, on the top of a massive volcano..
..And watched the sunrise on a Koh Phangan beach
A year since I reveled in standing near one of my favorite landmarks
..and added my personality to some amazing natural landscapes
A year since I met my self proclaimed wife
And stopped to investigate places that looked enticing..
A year since I met some of the most interesting people in my life
And admired architecture like I've never seen before
A year since the exquisite backpacker dinners
And the nights of living like a VIP
A year since the frigid glaciers..
and the almost heart stopping heat
A year since the highest cavern
..and the smallest dog
On buses..
On longboats...
From the bustling streets..
To the empty roads...
A year since one of the best experiences in my life. What are some of the best traveling experiences of your life? Would you do it again?

Wow, that must've been quite the trip! It just goes to show there's so much out there worth living for. As for me.. my ultimate travelling experience has yet to come. :)
I was especially entertained by the part about the self proclaimed wife
aw, wow! that looks magical! ive loved a lot of places, but i hate reminiscing about them, it just makes me want to go back or somewhere new! sheeesh. but i really liked your lovely post, its s. korea inspiring.
That sounds like an awesome trip!
you had such an amazing experience. i'd say two of my most amazing ones were studying in spain and backpacking south america.
@the_meadow_kite@xanga - i agree with you! traveling only makes us want to travel even more and sad when we're home.
I read this post when it was first published on his site and, even though I read it before, its still cool. Good job! and awesome pics. =)
how much was the cost?
@Carter - Yeah she is awesome hah! Even though I'm across the globe, she continues to call my cell in broken english to find out how my day was!
@the_meadow_kite@xanga - Thanks! I only got to see a little bit of S.korea though, most of the pictures were from New Zealand + Thailand!
@desertrose2890@xanga - Much <3 as always!
@duckling8912@xanga - Around 4k for about 6 months. Plane tickets took most of it unfortunately!
@anne - I've always wanted to go to Spain. Australia and Spain were my two top places to visit. I've got Australia out of the way now! Backpacking in S. America looks utterly amazing. My brother was down there for 4+ months and his stories were so tempting!
@Lordv16@xanga - haha, well that definitely explains why you were showing side of s. korea i never knew existed. regardless, its beautiful!
nice pics.
I love the pics!!
January 3rd was a year for me coming back from France.
I would love to go again, and also back to Vietnam and DR.
