James Bond Island - Ko Tapu
Guest post by black_lie
Today we went to the island in Thailand where they filmed Man with the Golden Gun. Its real name is Ko Tapu but even the natives call it James Bond Island due to the movie. Then we went to this village that consists entirely of buildings on piers. Then we went snorkeling. The coral and sea life here is beautiful. We went beach snorkeling, and I was really surprised at how close the coral reef was to the shore. You only had to swim about 200-300 feet out. It was cool seeing different kinds of fish.
My previous snorkeling and scuba experiences have mostly been in the Caribbean. Once we went snorkeling in Hawaii, but Hawaii marine life is pretty different from the rest of the world's because of its seclusion. I saw a Pacific giant clam! IT WAS AWESOME. We couldn't go scuba diving because of my low blood pressure. Oh well, we ran out of time anyway. Tomorrow we are going to Bangkok.
Have you ever been snorkeling or scuba diving? Where is your favorite place to go snorkeling?
